by fromComfortable and convenient In the interest of full disclosure, I should start out by saying that I used this pack for an overnight trip that included two full days of hiking, but did not require the need for a tent or sleeping bag. But I found this pack to be very comfortable to wear. The adjustable straps and soft frame made it very easy to carry on my back for miles (and hours) of hiking. I also liked that this pack did not have a lot of little pockets and compartments, like some packs do. The waist straps each have a pocket that is convenient to access while wearing the pack (I put t/p, a trowel and hand sanitizer on one said, and the other side contained a small bottle each of sunscreen and bugspray, chapstick and water purification tablets. The flap over the top of the bag also has a couple of pockets that are good for stashing small items (such as first aid and toiletries) and the pocket is perfect for flat items (like a map). The main compartment has a large pouch for a hydration bladder (my 100 oz. Camelbak bladder fits perfectly) and a small opening on each side designed for running a hydration tube and valve. And each shoulder strap has a bit of elastic that works for keeping the hydration valve in place and easily accessible while wearing the pack. The main compartment can also be accessed either through the top of the pack, or by unzipping the rear panel. This is very convenient for getting to the items that are in the bottom of the main compartment. And there is another large zippered area at the very back that has a couple pockets.

by fromGreat Pack! I first got a Kelty Coyote in 2002. It traveled all over Asia, Africa, and Europe not to mention dozens of backcountry trips in the US. It is not the lightest pack on the market but it is really durable and incredibly comfortable. I finally traded that pack in for a the Coyote last year. I love it and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great pack.
