Comments about Kelty Coyote 80 Pack:

I just used this backpack on a 4 day trek on the Appalachian Trail. I can't say enough about this pack, it is great.
I spent allot of time searching for the right backpack for me. I read reviews, forums, watched youtube videos, vendors websites, etc. I studied everything there is written about backpacks, materials, styles, weights, etc.
I came across this pack once, and despite everything I read, everthing I looked at, everything I tried, I kept on coming back to this backpack.
Nope, she ain't the prettiest, she certainly isn't the lightest or slimest out there. Nor will she win any popularity contest in the market of backpackers. But one thing she is is highly functional. She has allot of bells and whistles that make her a joy to use.
What I really like about this pack is the external zippered pockets, 5 of them, where you can store items you need to get to often and quickly. Its so nice not to have to open your pack and feel around for something you need. I also like the external lashing points on which you can carry items you don't want to put inside your pack like trekking poles and camp axe.
Of course it does have side water bottle pouches where you can keep your nalgene water bottles.
And roomy. This little baby holds a ton of gear. I wasn't hurting at all for space to store a weeks worth of gear in this pack.
She's tough, durable, and exudes confidence carrying all your gear. And she does it VERY COMPFORTABLY. I didn't even feel having 40 pounds on my back, felt more like a pound! The pack is fully adjustable to customize the fit to your needs.
One thing I did like is the price. With all the features this pack has one would think it costs twice what it does. In fact, I've seen many, many packs out there that cost so much more but don't have half the features this pack has.
I gotta say, I love my Kelty Coyote. I got mine in green.
BTW. I like mine so much I went ahead and bought my wife the womans version.

Comments about Kelty Coyote 80 Pack:

so far I'm enjoying using this for day hikes to short multi-day hikes. Works great, and I'm a fan of the many storage options.

Only complaint: fitting runs a little large. I had to take it back and get the smaller pack.

Pack is great, and I'm a hard to please!

Comments about Kelty Coyote 80 Pack:

I am just getting into this sport, so there is much I have to learn. But, from the few over night hikes that I've done, this pack was very good for carrying all that I wanted to bring. At 80 liters, you can comfortably put just about everything you want in it. It was a gift from my wife. I think the only thing I would say about it negatively is it is a bit heavy. Other than the weight, I like all the various storage compartments and adjustable straps that it has. All in all, it's a good solid backpack!
