Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
This was recommended by an associate at REI because of the price as well as quality of the bag. It's my very first sleeping bag for camping/backpacking and I was able to try it out this week at Rocky Mtn. National Park on opening day. It started raining before we made it back to camp and the tent was not zipped closed all the way. My bag was slightly damp, but fine. I was warm all night even though the temps dropped to the upper 30's. I'm 5'10" and a girl and loved how warm, light, and roomy this bag feels. I definitely recommend it.

Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
More like 4.75 stars out of 5, but I was forced to round up.
Bought it a week ago and have slept in it every night (once backpacking, once car camping, 5 nights on my bed). The loft-factor is cloud-like and is addictingly comfortable.
Size-weight-warmth-packability ratios are superb.
I'm 6'0, 165lbs and fit great in the regular size. If you're 6'1 and of a more lean build, you'll probably do just fine in the regular too (but still make sure you try in on first!). 6'2 and you're going to be pushing it, probably best to go large at that point.
Minor down side (why I took 0.25 star off): It's advertised as a full zipper, but it's more like a 4/5 zipper.

Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
I bought this bag to shave a few ounces and a little room off my pack, and still stay warm on those chilly mountain mornings. This bag did all of it. I have not tested the dri down due to the fact that i use a dry compression sack to pack it in, and my tent does not leak, so I will have to take their word that it's good stuff. Fits good with me and my pack.

Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
This is a good, comfortable sleeping bag that packs small. The DryDown worked pretty well. I went camping around the freezing point and I have to say at this temperature the bag is pretty cold though.

Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
I bought this bag to do some tent camping in Texas. I tried the bag in my backyard for one night. Unfortunatly I didn't make it until morning, the bag was very slim. I'm average in size but like to sleep on my stomach with one knee pulled up. There was no way I could do this in this bag. On the up side the bag was very light and packed very small, it would be great for hiking. I returned it and bought a Big Agnus which was a lot more roomy, but it does weigh more. For me camping is more fun if you get a good nights rest, so I'm willing to pack heavier to be comfortable.

Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
REI gives the fill on this bag (long) as 19 ounces. This is enough in my experience for comfort in a hard frost, mid-20s. However, the tag on the bag listed the fill as 16 ounces. This is actually less fill-equivalent than my 30-degree rated Sierra Designs Ridge Runner, and has the same apparent loft. I returned the bag to REI, not needing another 30-degree bag. Specs are important, and REI should double check.

It is so light and warms up very quickly. I am so excited to take it with me to Alaska this summer!

Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
I'm 6'5" and 235lbs with size 15 feet, and I never feel cramped or confined in this bag. I don't typically camp in wet conditions, so for me the DriDown is more of a "safety" feature in case I get caught in an isolated thunderstorm and my bag gets wet. The zipper doesn't snag on me, and the bag packs down incredibly small. I'm going to buy the women's version for my wife.

Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
Bought this bag for an upcoming hiking trip, and to use during the rest of my deployment in Afghanistan. I always freeze, but not in this bag! The included stuff sack packs the bag down to a size slightly larger than a 2 liter bottle. I've taken it directly from the stuff sack and immediately crawled in, and it still kept me warm without needing time to 're-fluff'. It meets my needs-small, lightweight, warm. I haven't had it in a wet environment, so can't comment on the dridown.

Comments about Sierra Designs Zissou 23 DriDown Sleeping Bag:
As soon as my roommate saw this thing, she called it straight "gangster"! It packs super small, is super light weight, bright so you know where it is, and warm so you forget that its there. I rarely write reviews but after a couple of nights out with this thing, once when it started raining at 6 in the morning and this thing just shed water like it was no big deal. granted it only got wet for half an hour when I woke up and brought it inside after enough drops snuck through the pperffect sized mymmy hole.
first night it got down to the mid 30s and I didn't even notice. second night I tried it in a hammock with a sleeping bag liner and the condensation froze on top and I could notice it felt a little heavier from the frost weighing down the top.
then I fell back asleep and synched it up around my face and it started raining. It could have rained for maybe an hour before I noticed it and had quite a hard time escaping before I could get out of the rain. I was in a liner without a zipper which is generally hard to escape from in the first place.
The flat cord/round cord hood adjustment is smart but the toggle to release it is a bit finnicky. its good cuz that means it wll stay shut at night, but when you gotta get out to pee or somethings, it's a bit nerve racking to feel stuck inside it.
stuffed in an xtra small compression sack, this thing is 2 lbs light, and the size of a liter coke bottle. super pleased with this purchase. a rough summer should show me how durable it is but I have a feeling i'll be with this bag for awhile. only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is because fighting to escape it is a bit spooky in the middle of the night. Other than that this thing is gangster.
