Comfortable, however, they are rather narrow and took a while to break in .

Comments about Columbia Estes Slip-On Shoes - Men's - 2011 Closeout:
I bought these as work shoes, as a contractor, I'm on my feet most of the day.
These shoes are very comfortable for all-day wear, have great traction, seem waterproof. I din't know how they'll be come summer.
Only catch is they're a little hard to get on as the tongue area comes up very high on the instep. Slippery socks would help, definitely need a shoe horn.

Ordered 0.5 sizes larger (to compensate for thick socks when camping at night which is when I intended to wear these). But even with normal white socks and the 'increased' size they were very tight. Might be great shoes, I haven't worn them (taking them back). If you do buy them, go at least a size or 1.5 sizes larger than your normal shoe.

Could not get it on my feet. The opening is simply too small.

I agree with the previous reviewer about the shoes being incredibly narrow. I expect slip-ons to be a bit snug, but these were ridiculous. Even tried a pair a 1/2 size bigger in the store when I returned the pair I bought online and I still couldn't even get them on my feet.

Comments about Columbia Estes Slip-On Shoes - Men's - 2011 Closeout:
And, I really mean it! Well, I still use pair of old shoes (sneakers) from Columbia, and those are great... however, this pair is something special - in the sense, that it needs special feet to wear them.
Admittedly, my foot is rather wide - however, normally I can put on (at least try) an average pair of medium-width shoes, and in many cases wear them after some break-in period. Unfortunately, this pair is out of consideration - even wearing thin socks, I could barely pull these shoes on, resulting in an absolutely torturous fit - even after completely removing the insole, same result...
So, if your feet are actually narrow, these shoes may work well for you - they look nice, and quality seems to be fine. However, if your foot is of at least good medium width, I would advise you to skip this deal - that would also save you returning trip to REI.
