Comments about Boardworks Joy Ride Stand Up Paddleboard - 10' 11":

I will be using my SUP in the surf zone at Destin FL. I didn't start off knowing all the choices available when purchasing a SUP - did lots of research and decided that should get a board that I could learn on and move later to racing or surfing configuarations as my interest grew. I weigh over 200 lbs. and want my grandkids to be able to sit on the board with me. I also have to carry board a quarter mile. This led me to choose a light and highly bouyant SUP.

Service and delivery comments:

The manufacturer of this product had a significant back log. We thought it would take two weeks for delivery. Instead it took two months. This was beyond REI's control and the staff was extremely helpful. They even loaned me another SUP because of my vacation schedule. That board was performance oriented and practicing on it help me appreciate that I had made the right choice when my order was finally delivered.

This is THE board to learn on if you have any concnerns about balance or want to be able to paddle with kid, dog, or other cargo onboard with you. Soft EVA deck from tip to tail makes it comfortable and safe.
