I think my head is a pretty normal size but this hat in the regular size was too tight on my head & would have given me quite a headache if I had worn it for any length of time. Too bad because I think it's a very nice look otherwise. Unknown what a "long" size would be & no one at the store could tell me, so not sure if that would be better for a "big" head like me. I measured my circumference & my head is about 23inches around.
