I was expecting a hanging kit;I was thinking some hardware would be included. But all I got were two lengths of rope tied in a series of loops. Kind of expensive for what I got. I could have just used some of my own rope.

This kit is supposedly rated for 400lbs. My wife in I were in the double hammock from Grand Trunk and the cord from the tree hanging kit snapped. Our combined weight is 315lbs and we were not bouncing or swinging, just sitting there. Not happy with this purchase.

This is a great product except for one thing: It can have an impact on the trees it is connected to. Thin rope can cut into the cambrian layer of a tree causing damage over time. While this is OK for a short hang, I would not recommend repeated use on the same tree. An updated version of this product comes with "tree hugger" webbing, which is a strap 1 inch wide (or more) that cuts into the tree less.
That aside, this is dead simple to use, quick and easy to set up and it has NO STRETCH unlike the ENO slap straps which stretch greatly. There's also something refreshing about a hammock strap that is nothing but rope folded over with knots tied in it. Some hammockers can become obsessed with knots, tying styles, cambuckles, clips and more. As long as you an attack your hammock to this strap (carabiners are great), that's all you need.

Very impressed with how easy and simple this system is to set up and use. Will work well if you do not anticipate swinging more than necessary for getting in and out or occassional gentle back and forth. Our rope broke from repetitive swinging. We set it up according to instructions but I expect we used it in a more intensive way than designed.

They tree straps work great for setting up a hammock. They go up easy and stay in place. They don't stretch like the Eno Slap straps. They seem durable as there are no signs of wear after a half dozen uses.
