Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Clearwater +35 Sleeping Bag - Wide - Special Buy:
Really is a great bag for the price point. I have all types of gear and to be honest this is right up there with bags two/three times the price. No it doesn't pack as small as a down bag but it is very close. Super comfortable and well made. Most people seem to have issues with the temperature rating of the bag. I have used this bag down to 30's no problem 20s in a pinch but I always sleep with a silk liner to prolong the use of my bag and keep it clean and sleep in thermals. Another big thing for me is most mummy bags I never sleep well in at all because I roll around during the night and I feel to constricted. I really like the way this bag is cut. Very similar to big agnes bags wide.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Clearwater +35 Sleeping Bag - Wide - Special Buy:
I used this bag in Glacier and at Rainier in August with temps in the forties and was hot! Took it out this past weekend when the low got to 37 and was absolutely freezing. I am not at all a cold natured person and actually slept with it as a blanket on the August trip last year. This past weekend I had it cinched almost all the way and was still cold. All in all a pretty good deal price wise but maybe the temp rating is off a bit? It does snag so you have to use the zipper slowly and carefully which is kind of a pain. I'll keep this one as a backup but will definitely be looking for another.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Clearwater +35 Sleeping Bag - Wide - Special Buy:
i bought this and Marmot Trestles +15 Sleeping Bag - Men's Extra-Wide Long. This packed down smaller and lighter. But, the insulation seemed thin and rated for more like +45-50 degree temps. This bag was the roomier of the two. I needed a lower temp rated bag than this one. It also seems like the shell material would get wet and soak thru to you inside rather quickly.
