Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Clearwater +35 Sleeping Bag - Long - Special Buy:
I bought 2 of these summer bags for my 2 Scout sons. I took a print out of the listed specs into my local REI store to compare it to expensive bags. The weight and pack size are the same as much more expensive bags. So I got 2 bags for the price of 1 more expensive bag. My oldest son just returned from a Scout trip to the Northern Tier in Canada. 2 weeks out in the wet wilderness and it held up really well. He is 6'2" and had plenty of room. I did as other reviews advised and got him a bag liner to keep his skin from sticking. He says it worked out great and best of all while other Scouts struggled to keep dry (it rained every day and the ground was soaked), he had no problems. He also had an REI Alps special buy self inflating sleep pad which kept him off the ground! I washed the bag in the washing machine and made the mistake of not attaching the velcro before I dried it. The velcro snagged the outside of the bag, but other than looking a bit fuzzy in that area, the bag is fine.

Comments about ALPS Mountaineering Clearwater +35 Sleeping Bag - Long - Special Buy:
I have used this bag in a variety of conditions in Colorado. I am a warm person so I bought a higher temp rated bag, also saved on price. Has held up well on a number of backpack and car camping trips. There is plenty of room in it to sleep quite comfortably, I'm 6'3 200lb. The zipper does tend to snag and also sometimes unzips during the night when I sinch down the hood. Would be nice to have an adjustable shoulder/neck sinch. It does get a little sticky when wearing little clothing. Good first bag for anyone wanting to start getting outside more, awesome value. I might get a warmer bag when this one needs to be replaced but it does a relatively good job of keeping me warm till morning.

Use this for backpacking with my Scout Troop. Leaves room in the sleeping bag compartment of my pack for other things. Compresses small in to stuff sack. Must stuff it, don't roll it. The interior lining is a bit clingy if sleeping with minimal clothes. Don't think I would go below 40 degrees with it. I'm 6'6", 265lb and it fits great.
