Comments about Lafuma Extreme 950 Pro +30 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
I should have read the previous review before I ordered. This definitely not a 30deg bag. As the label states, it will probably you alive at 30deg, but the comfort range doesn't start until 46deg. I already have an REI Travel Down, so I don't have a need for another warm weather bag. I will be returning it.

Comments about Lafuma Extreme 950 Pro +30 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
This is a summer warm weather only bag. I bought 2. It was advertised as a 3-season bag on REI.com, rated for 30 degrees, but when it arrived the label clearly states that comfort zone starts at 46 degrees (a big difference). The 46 degree rating is more correct. 2 of us just tried it in a low 40's night; one shivered all night, the other was chilled but okay. I would hate to feel a night in the 30's. It was also brown/red not gray/red, but who cares. At 2.2 lbs. it packs light and small. We will keep one for summer backpacking in low altitude and desert treks. The other is going back in exchange for a true 3-season bag. As a summer bag, it is comfortable if you are small (under 5'10" and average weight). It is soft, has good zippers, strong velcro, and seems well constructed.

Comments about Lafuma Extreme 950 Pro +30 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
I used this bag in the Cascades this summer. In the high country, temps got down into mid 30's. I was just on a thin Ridgerest out on the ground and was warm enough, but just. However, I don't get undressed to bivy. I just climb in the bag. I would not try to use this bag in early spring or late fall if at higher elevations. I would agree that REI should sell it as a 35 or 40 degree bag or something. I like that it is a light and compact synthetic for climbing. I don't think that this bag will last a long time but for the price that REI is asking right now, if you can only get a couple of busy seasons out of it you are still doing ok.

Comments about Lafuma Extreme 950 Pro +30 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
Don't be fooled by the 30 degree label! If this was advertised as a lightweight summer bag I'd be giving it 5 stars, but it is NOT a 3-season bag. I used it during a summer backcountry trek in Glacier Nat'l Park and froze... even with a 15 degree liner. I would hesitate to use it again if I thought the temp was going to drop under 50 degrees.

Comments about Lafuma Extreme 950 Pro +30 Sleeping Bag - Special Buy:
No disrespect to those who gave this bag low marks, but there are 3 huge factors that made this bag a great buy for me.... 1. PACKS VERY SMALL - My pack has a small sleeping bag compartment and this bag fit w/ lots of room to spare. 2. VERY LIGHT WEIGHT - At just a smidgen over 2 pounds, this is perfect for multi-day backpacking trips. 3. PRICE - I took advantage of one of REI's super discount specials and paid just under 60 bucks for this bag! OK, so it's not toasty-cozy-warm, but I did fine during an October hike in Indiana when temps got down into the 30's.
