      The best advice I can give about choosing a paddle: if you can't afford the best, save up until you can. It really does make THAT much of a difference.

      This is my 2nd year paddleboarding. Last year I made the mistake of purchasing a cheaper, adjustable paddle thinking more about function and trying to keep costs down. While I enjoyed paddling immensely, I fatigued on long paddles. I also experienced stiff back/shoulder muscles all season long despite being fairly in shape. My paddle was one part that made paddleboarding not as enjoyable.

      This paddle is all carbon - amazingly lightweight which means no fatigue. It cuts through the water and has the perfect amount of surface area for a strong, fluid pull. I feel much more in control of my stroke and each one is much more effective. I'm 5'7" and got a 78"...some would say it is a tad tall, but I prefer the height. It helps me for stronger sprints/workouts. You could go shorter for sure if you do leisurely paddles more often than workouts.

      I think paddleboarding is the best sport ever and didn't think it could get any better last year. But my paddling experience is night and day with the Kanaha. So much more fun all around. All carbon and Quick Blade were definitely the way to go.

      I can confidently say the Quick Blade Kanaha All-Carbon SUP paddle is the most comfortable, versatile, durable, and lightest I have used so far. In terms of length, I chose the 74" paddle due to the fact that I am a whopping 5'6" tall. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

      Bottom line: If you have the money, buy it! If you don't have the money, it's worth saving for!

      Service and delivery comments:

      Surprisingly, the Quick Blade Kanaha arrived 2 days before the estimated arrival date. I recently learned I live in close proximity to one of REI's distribution centers, so the early arrival makes sense. Still, it was a pleasant surprise!
