I've had the Nalu for a couple of weeks and have taken it out in the marina a few times (flat water with some wake from boats). I absolutely love it! I was in the market for a kayak but the sales girl talked me into the SUP concept and then we saw this 2 for 1 boat! It handles really well and only took me about an hour to feel like a pro on it. I have found that I mostly SUP my Nalu but then I quickly drop down to kayak when I get tired. It also makes a great kayak...funny thing is, when I'm tired from kayaking I jump up and SUP since these use different muscle groups.

I'm going to try surfing the waves on the ocean-side next time!

Looks like REI now carries this hybrid paddle:

Carlisle Taboo Paddle is a good choice with the NALU SUP/Kayak.
(deck bungies allow storage)

Check Ocean Kayak's NALU video to see both.

NALU is really a good product
and gets 4 stars.

Toboo has interchangeable blade or t-handle, for kayak or SUP.

This is NOT a performance paddle, but it IS VERY versatile.
I rate it at 2, maybe 3 stars for versatility.

Bought 2 NALUs & 2 hybrid paddles (REI does not carry)
so we can SUP or kayak, depending on wind or fatigue or ?

This is a highly functional hybrid- functions really well as an SUP or
flatwater kayak, without sacrificing performance. NALU is a winner.

Roto-molded plastic is bomb proof, and the cost for BOTH NALUs
was about the same as one SUP board.

Ocean Kayak has a winner here, and NALU could be sold as
an SUP and/or a kayak, because it is both.

WOW! What a great find. This vessel is one of the best out there. stable, manuverable(sp?), and everyone can use it. get yourself a nice paddle to go with it. the TABOO is ok, but not great. tracks great, turns with some effort. in the wind and against the tide it still glides!
