Comments about GoLite Quest Pack:
I have used the GoLite Quest on two trips - a 3-day backcountry ski hut trip in Colorado and a 5-day backpacking trip near Moab, UT. In both cases I had loads in the 40-45 pound range and was surprised and impressed that a 3 lb pack that costs under $200 carried this load quite well.
Loved the convenience of the hip belt pockets and the outer pocket on the pack bag was perfect for avy gear and quick access to outerwear, etc. Lots of value in the Quest.
6'1", 190lbs, size large pack fits great.

Comments about GoLite Quest Pack:
Purchased correct pack size based on back measurement. Hip belt would easily fit around my 42-inch waist, but hip pads only went to sides of hip. Thus, could not get weight transferred to hips. Returned it after wearing it loaded around the house for 30-minutes and developing pains in shoulders, bone at base of neck and back bone just above tail bone.

Comments about GoLite Quest Pack:
This pack has potential. Two major problems: 1) Near upper pack weight limits adds uncomfortable pressure on thin width hip belt across front. On steep grades, top portion of pack prevents raising of head to look upwards with standard bowl style helmets making scrambling interesting. The side mesh pockets need the diagonal cut changed so it better holds the water bottles. Would not recommend it for aggressive scrambles/climbs. Would recommend it for lighter gear and shorter easier terrains.
