    Nice to find some good vegan boots, but unfortunately the size 8 1/2 I received was more like a size 8, and the footbeds were much too thick for the space allocated for them. This was a known problem since the boots arrived with a pair of cheap cut-to-size insoles to use instead. If were not for this design error I would have rated them much higher.

    I use these boots to hike around the Valley of the Sun and other scenic areas of Arizona. I can go by a herd of cattle and now that I did not use one of their siblings to have my shoes made!!! They are a bit stiff still after about 50 miles of hiking, hopefully they break in better soon or I will have to sacrifice Bessie!

      When I read the reviews and they said get a size larger, I should have paid attention. I ordered 1/2 size larger, and they were snug. An hour or so later and my foot had swollen and was very uncomfortable. FOLLOW THE REVIEWERS ADVICE: GET A FULL SIZE LARGER THAN YOU REGULARLY GET!!!

        I agree with the previous comments that these run small, but it's my fault I didn't get two pairs when I ordered them, so I'm not going to blame the shoes.

        These are easily the most comfortable, lightest and most secure hikers I've owned. I feel very adept at tackling any trail in these shoes. It's also comforting to know the Vibram soles can be updated when the traction wears down, so as long as the uppers last (and how often do they wear out on most shoes?), this is a very sustainable (and humane) product.

          The Garmont Kiowa Vegan Hiking Boots are the best I ever had. It doesn't get any better..... I hike many many thousand miles on Garmonts every year, never had any problem at all. Garmont is absolutely my favourite shoebrand. They are comfortable and durable.
          Attention: I know they fit short, so I ordered one size too big.

            These shoes fit excellently and are very comfortable. I was able to hike in them right away with no break in period and had no problems. I tried other brands of hiking bots but these fit the best. They size a half size smaller than stated but this is perfect for me as I am a size 12 1/2 so the 13 fits great. Excellent boot!! They have great arch support as well.
