Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
There are plenty of reviews on this tent already, so I just want to emphasize a few things about the Sirius 3 in my review.
Things I like:
SIZE & WEIGHT: This is a nice, light weight, 3-season TWO person tent. You could fit 3 people in a pinch, but I wouldn't want to. The weight is in the range of many two-person tents due to the partial coverage fly and abundant mesh. Look closely at the dimensions and weight and you may notice it is quite comparable to REI's award-winning Quarterdome T3.
VALUE: It is very affordable for what you get, i.e. light weight, good size, solid construction, good ventilation, decent foul weather performance.
Things I wish were better:
LENGTH: I am 6'0" and wish this tent were just a couple inches longer. The bathtub floor (which is nice) seems to begin its upward pitch just a little short of published dimensions, so it seems I am always touching the tent wall at the head or the foot. Having said that, the width of this tent is nice and that is what makes it ideal for two people since you can bring most or all of your gear inside where you can access it more easily.
SMALL VESTIBULES: They are pretty much just big enough for your boots, but at least you get to leave your boots outside and semi-protected.
Other thoughts:
COLOR: I like the color. I don't like waking up in a green or orange glow.
FLY & MESH: If you don't mind getting up in the middle of the night to attach the fly if it rains, this tent design is nice for star watching. I wish there were a couple attachment buckles or lash points to attach the fly partially open or rolled back. As is, if you want to watch the sky but keep the fly on, you un-clip the top-most buckles and just leave the fly kind-of hanging there, so it can blow around or slide down the poles. I would prefer to have the fly "at the ready" for rain, but still securely attached somehow. It probably wouldn't be much work adding a couple buckles to the clips on the mesh side of the tent to hold the fly on but keep an open view at zenith.
Finally, I haven't yet had this tent in severe or rainy weather, but am a little concerned about condensation and the single-wall construction on the one side, especially since the tent seems a bit short for me and I tend to touch the walls while sleeping. I am considering treating the single wall side of the tent with Nikwax weatherproofing if I find that to be a problem.
Overall, I rate this tent 4 out of 5 stars.
Good value, light weight, roomy, and recommended.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
While I have selected Casual/Recreational as my style above, do not mistake my usage of this tent to be merely car camping excursions. I have carried this tent miles into many backcountry areas with pleasure. The Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent is simple and fast to setup, so it won't leave you fumbling around in the rain on those wet days. It is also quite large; more than comfortably accommodating 2 campers, and slightly less comfortably; 3 campers. Admittedly I like a little more room in my tents, so I tend to use this for two campers. Coming in at just over 5 pounds (5lbs4oz) this tent is light enough for those longer, more strenuous, adventures, but comfortable enough that you won’t mind using it as your primary car camping tent too. This is really the only tent you need. Not to mention this tent is a steal of a price. In my experience, for the weight, quality, and capacity of this tent, you just cannot go wrong here. I am very satisfied.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
Bought this tent soley on its weight since I love to pack light on long hikes. It fits in my external pack nicely. On one rainy night I had this tent setup right in the middle of a small runoff stream and woke the next morning with only a little water in the tent. The tent is great for one person and all your gear on long over night hikes, car camping you can cram 3 people in there with out a problem. Go for it.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
Super easy to set up even alone, this tent is great for two; questionable for three, especially with gear.
Great in summer and warmer weather. It can be a little too breezy for nights in late autumn, but I have never had condensation issues. Get the attic pouch for extra storage.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
Backpacked into wilderness area in early fall. Set up the tent and stowed our gear (more than enough room for 2 adults and two large dogs) before the rain began. Feeling safe and secure we soon found that the zippers stick at numerous points when cold (40F) and wet. We had this problem with both doors and it took a good 5 minutes to finally get out. The rainfly does not completely cover the door and because the door folds into the tent bottom the water from the outside of the door got all over the sleeping bags! Granted this was my first trip with this tent but stuck zippers are a huge deal in the middle of the night in a rainstorm. Sets up in a hurry, lightweight and sturdy but needs bigger rainfly and redesign on doors and zippers.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
This is a good tent. It accompanied us two for backpacking five days and five nights in the Grand Canyon in March, one night which was on the rim.
The rim: 19-low, 50-high. We have not had to encounter rain with this tent, but we did encounter snow even though it is a 3 season tent. It worked just fine in the snow with the rainfly (and very efficient sleeping pads & bedding of course), thus the rainfly is extremely adequate. The floor was waterproof so we were not wet.
The canyon: 50-low, 70-high. During the warmer weather in the day or night, it's mesh half gets a nice breeze and if you need privacy you can hopefully point the mesh side away from the large majority of people traffic. Or to avoid the sun but still get a breeze, you hopefully can point the mesh side away from the sun.
The mesh is very adequate; we've never had a critter in our tent.
In warmer weather, I suppose you could stargaze at night with your head at the mesh end, but we tended to be the other way around since we were in colder weather.
It definitely collects condensation in colder weather with the rainfly completely on and the breeze minimized.
The doors are large and there is one on each side which is GREAT if you have to get up a lot in the middle of the night and wish not to climb over someone. A very minor complaint - the door zippers seem very loud and are apt to wake up your roommate, and they get stuck very easily if you are not terribly patient with them. Perhaps that is extremely common...
We have used this tent for car camping as well in the spring and fall in Texas, and it's great.
We are 5-7 and 6-0, one thin and one thick, and we fit just fine with some extra room for some gear on the outer sides of us. There is one 2-section storage pocket hanging on each outer side at the mesh end, which is nice for each person to have one to put small things in so you don't lose them. The tent has a decent "sit up" height.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
We backpacked alot this year with this tent. One trip it rained(and hailed) for two days and we stayed dry. Others in our group with different tents were soaked. We were a little worried at first because of the fly design but many trips and several storms later, we are dry and happy.
It is light, easy to set up and roomy for 2. No condensation problems. Can't beat the value.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
The tent is super quick to set up by one person. Also it is light and easy to carry. But the overall length of the tent is a little tight and I'm under 5'8". The fly doesn't leave a lot of room for gear to be stored, just your boots. Plus the rainfly can't be used unless it is staked out or it blocks the doors. With the fly off you get a great breeze because half the tent is mesh which is perfect for the beach.
I really liked the tent at first but the more I used it the more problems I had with the doors.
The doors are poorly designed, they zip down instead of to the side so you wind up trampling them when you enter/exit. When it rains condensation on the doors gets everywhere. The rain fly only covers the area to the side of the doors so you get wet entering/exiting. They also have a flap that runs over the zipper which I suppose is supposed to compensate for the lack of fly cover over the doors but instead the zipper gets caught in them constantly. I could go on about the doors and how much they drive me crazy but I'll spare you.
If you are going to be camping when it rains this tent is less than ideal. But if you were going to use it for car camping or beach camping I think it would be very comfortable and easy.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
So far I've used the tent both car camping and backpacking in the summer months. The tent is really light, and the poles are attatched at the top which makes everything really simple and easy to keep track of. I set it up at 11 pm one night to the light of my high beams without any difficulty. Its really lightweight, and thats a blessing and a curse. I probably wouldn't want to use it in cold weather or adverse conditions. But if conditions are ideal, then so is this tent.

Comments about Sierra Designs Sirius 3 Tent:
My only gripe is that it's a little cramped in the height dimension for 6' and taller (I am 6'). Great PRICE/WEIGHT/SIZE ratio.
