I use these for road biking. The tubes seem lighweight and as a result may be a little thinner and therefore could puncture easier. Have not had a flat with these yet. My only puncture resulted from trying to change tires on my bike, so you have to be careful. I usually keep the pressure almost as high as the recommended maximum. It seems to help avoid excessive flats. I like them. They work fine and look better than others.

I'm a big REI fan, but these tubes are poorly made. I have gone through 3 in a week, all with leaks where the stem sealed to the tube. No punctures, just leaks at the seal. Fortunately, there were no catastrophic flats, or downhill wobblies.

Great tube. I've ridden over 2000 miles and haven't had a problem with these tubes. Lightweight, great stem length. Overall a great tube for the price.

I purchased and used two of these tubes for the 2010 "Death Ride," in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, 130 miles and 15,000 feet of climbing in a day. No flats, and none since adding a few hundred miles on the mean streets of Los Angeles and in Yosemite National Park. So I'm satisfied with the performance of the tubes, and certainly had none of the problems listed by other reviewers.

I have had several of these break right where the stem connects to the tube. I happens front and rear, and it's NOT my rims. They only last a couple hundred miles before failing spectacularly, especially during the inflation process when I'm attaching/removing the pump. REI needs to know about this manufacturing defect, I plan to tell them.

The valves on these tubes stick and are difficult to inflate - particularly with a CO2 cartridge. The tubes also puncture easily and the valve stem separates from the tube.
At one time, Novara made a good tube, but lately not so.

The tubes are horrible... As a disclaimer, I just started road cycling about 6 months ago, so I'm no expert, but I'm quite sure this isn't the quality I should expect in tubes.

I've used 2 of these tubes and purchased 4 more that will now be going back to REI. The first one I installed after getting a flat in a different brand tube. I inflated it to the recommended PSI and about 5-10 minutes later, the tube blew! I hadn't touched my bike or done anything with it from the time I inflated to the time it blew... It looked like it blew on the seem, but I gave the benefit of the doubt to the tube, and installed another one, this time inflating it a bit less than what I had before (on the low end of the recommended PSI). I just returned from a "ride" that was cut quite short by this tube. I stayed on flat land near my house just to see how the tube would react, and when all felt fine, I ventured out to attempt my real ride. I kid you not that about 50 feet in, on the first "climb" (which is a slight incline to leave my neighborhood) the tube blew! Rather than replacing the tube with a tube of the same brand, I went back to my house to write this review and prepared to go for a run instead.

These tubes are worthless, as far as I'm concerned. I'm disappointed REI is still selling something of such poor quality after so many reviews have appeared dating back a few years.

Don't even risk buying these, go somewhere else, or find something online with better reviews. These tubes are discouraging.

I purchased 4 tubes at my local REI and I dont know if Novara had a bad run or what, but im 2/4 out of the box. One split along a seam after inflating and another had a puncture against the valve stem. On my third and it seems to be holding up fine the fourth is still questionable. I personally dont think a few grams of weight matter, I would reccomend other name brand tubes with a better history in tubes like specialized, michelin, conti. ect...
