Comments about Camp Time Roll-A-Chair:
We bought two of these for our kayaking trips. They are small enough to fit into our storage compartments and very light. The only negative is that if you are a tall guy, you can't lean all of your weight back on this chair if it is sitting on a flat surface. Better for a bigger person to angle them slightly down hill to prevent tipping backwards.

Comments about Camp Time Roll-A-Chair:
I read the reviews regarding this chair prior to putting it on my Christmas list. I received the chair for Christmas, and have used it already five or six times ice fishing! Actually, my husband likes it so much that he kept taking it out with him ice fishing. Its compact size is perfect inside an ice house. It's also extremely lightweight and easy to pack with your gear. We decided to order another one so that we can both sit in comfort! We will be taking this chair everywhere - we're especially looking forward to taking it this summer in the canoe and boat for shore lunch comfort. We live in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and do LOTS of outdoor activities. The only tiny negative for me is that the chair is a little tall. We will modify my chair by cutting the legs by about an inch or two. Shouldn't be too hard to modify. We're really impressed by the construction and durability of the chair (and that it's made in the USA).

I take this with me when I go wilderness kayak camping... or any other camping.. not to mention any of the millions of other activities.
- I use this chair for a step-stool while setting up my hammock-tent, so I am high enough off the ground to not get cold from ground-effect.
- I leave my shoes/boots on the chair next to my hammock while I sleep so there aren't any surprises inside in the morning.
- I don't have to find a log to sit on around the campfire.
- I can doze off in this chair and not tumble to the ground because it has a very stable and comfortable backrest (I'm 6'2" and 160 lbs).

Comments about Camp Time Roll-A-Chair:
I've owned this chair for at least 13 years. I don't use it very much - a dozen times a year - but it's as good as new. The most amazing thing about it (to me) is that no one has made anything better in that amount of time (better = weight/comfort ratio). Although relatively light, it is a heavy luxury item for me when backpacking, but I never leave it behind. I did once and that was mistake enough. The quality of rest I gain from its comfort at the end of the day more than makes up for hauling it along. People sitting on the ground or on their bear canisters look at me with envy.Nylon webbing is used to hold it closed when folded, and doubles as a shoulder sling - perfect for carrying from the car to events, campsite, beach, and other non-backpacking uses.Critique: the only thing to really improve is weight, in my opinion. For starters, the fabric is super-heavy duty. (haven't looked at newer ones to see if this is still the case, but the listed weight is only 2.5 oz. lighter than mine) Beyond that, I can't see shaving more than another ounce off using lighter hardware unless they use carbon fiber poles. Most people probably wouldn't buy a [$] chair though. Conclusion: great for backpacking if you can afford the weight.

Comments about Camp Time Roll-A-Chair:
I bought this chair largely based on the reviews here, most people raved about how comfortable it is - couldn't disagree more. This chair sits too high, the seatback is somewhat "wobbly" and doesn't provide much support when leaning back, and the support in front is positioned right in the crotch area. It's okay to sit in for short periods of time, but definitely not a chair to try to sit back and relax in for an evening by the campfire. It's also too bulky in my opinion for backpacking.
On the positive side, it is well constructed.

Comments about Camp Time Roll-A-Chair:
these are fantastic chairs. I have used them for over 10 years, and they are amazingly comfortable and useful. They are compact and lightweight -- I can strap four of them on the outside of my pack. I originally got them for canoe trips, but now I use them backpacking and whenever I need a portable chair. They are totally bombproof. I weigh 250, and the only parts I have ever had to replace are the black caps on the ends of the feet, and the company sent me a bag of them for a nominal fee. Perhaps the best designed outdoor product I have ever used.

Comments about Camp Time Roll-A-Chair:
As I get older rocks get less comfortable! This chair gets strapped to the side of my pack, weighs very little. Nice to sit by the fire and lean back in the chair.

Comments about Camp Time Roll-A-Chair:
We wanted a seat high enough off the ground with a back that is comfortable. This fits the bill. We tried it and are now getting one for each of the rest of the family. We use it for outdoor events and to take on hikes for more comfortable seating (we are older). but also look forward to taking them to dog shows etc.

Comments about Camp Time Roll-A-Chair:
I was surprised to find that this was a *full* height chair. It is amazingly comfortable and compact. I can't imagine that there is a lighter chair out there that is this stable, durable and comfortable. So easy to pack and take with you, you'll never leave it at home. The only con I can think of is that it does not come with a protective bag to store it out of the dust.

I've had mine since REI first carried it, and use it for jam sessions and music festivals. It's cery comfortable and no armrests to interfere with playing.
