The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Nalgene Wide-Mouth Cantene - 96 fl. oz.:
I bought two of these for a backpack trip on arid Catalina Island after my Platypus 2L bottles developed pinhole leaks after about 10 years and I was unable to find replacements. I've had several Nalgene products in the past (hard water bottle and a hydration bladder) that were good quality, so I trusted the brand. Unfortunately, both leaked immediately (I think from the seam around the screw top). I immediately returned both bottles after the trip. I'm glad to see the Platypus 2L bottles are available again.

I bought this model for the wide mouth and handle for ease of carrying water once at camp. It worked well for a year and then sprung a leak. I carried this canteen collapsed in my pack during the day. I would only carry water in it if I were in a dry area or I was going to dry camp. Most of the time it remained folded while hiking.
Because of the wide mouth it just does not fold up well. The way it is designed to fold up it what causes it to fail eventually. My unit developed a leak on the side that soaked the inside of my pack. Fortunately my critical gear was in dry sacks so no real harm.
I am sure other canteens can fail the same way but I think that this model is more susceptible to failure than others.

I have a 32 oz version of this and really liked it....till it sprung a leak during our trip (another topic).
I like bottle/bag because you can clean/stash a large quantity of water for cooking and drinking at your site. Instead of running to the stream 4 or 5 time in a night to get water for dinner and to drink, you just fill this beast and your good for the night.
Wont take a ton of room up in your pack, and it weights nothing.

Look, these aren't Nalgene bottles nor Dromedary bags -- don't expect that sort of durability for less than an oz per liter. If used with a bit of commmon sense however they are a spectacularly lighweight and reliable way to add needed capacity to backpacking trips.
If you are going to clip it on your belt and drag it across granite slabs, expect failure -- use common sense. Keep it in your pack (I slip them in external side pockets) and don't harshly fold, spindle nor mutilate and they will serve you well.
Love that they stand on a relatively flat bottom when filled. I added grommets to the bottom flaps so I can hang them upside down for use with a gravity filter system when needed.
Love that the cap fits my CamelBak All clear UV purifier.
Did I mention they are LIGHT?

The best water storage I have ever owned - I LOVE it! I take everywhere from the back country to around town and am never without water. It holds enough for whole day and folds up to go in your bag when empty.
I put a carabiner in the loop to clip to my bag or belt, and also put a lid with a nipple from another manufacture on top to make it faster/easier to drink out of without the chance of spilling.
Hands down the best.

I have quite a few hydration packs of various types, but needed something specifically suited for transporting reserves and/or collecting and treating non-potable water. The container had to be light, durable, easy to fill, and not leak through the lid. This served my specific purposes wonderfully - nine months of field use and counting.

I have used these for a number of years. Each of the two I have had eventually sprung small leaks after time but never a large leak that rendered it unusable on a trip. I have used it for backpacking, canoe camping and even to store drinking water in our van camper. Works with water filters and allows you to get the evening water purifying done efficiently, fill the day water bottles in the morning before breaking camp before storing away during the hike or portage.
The best folding canteen I have found. Buying another.

This bag is pretty good. There are some flaws in it, but I am happy with how mine held up (it just broke after six years) and I am here to buy another.
The bag-bottle I got had the original white plastic handle liner fall off pretty quickly. It became useless. But the bag itself held up really well. It holds a LOT of water, and I am glad that Nalgene is making smaller versions of it (I am going to get the middle size version, too).
I like that as I drink it or use it to fill up my drinking reservoir, it collapses and becomes smaller in my pack.
Realize that 96 ounces is close to a gallon (a gallon is 128 ounces), so this thing weighs around 7 lbs when filled.
Mine eventually began to leak when a small hole developed towards the bottom edge, at the seam. Still, I am glad with how it held up and am ordering a replacement. These are great products. Oh, also, it's BPA free and doesn't affect the taste of the water inside.

I use the canteen in the refrigerator. The canteen holds more water than an average container and takes up a lot less space. I find it practical for the refrigerator because it collapses. We have gotten quite a few ahhhs and where did you get that from when others have retrieved it from the refrigerator for water.

Great Nalgene product here, i've used it on the AT sections and once getting to a camp or water source just attach to a compatible water filter (standard size opening) and you wont fumble with extra water bottles. I love the fact also like most people said that if you drink or use it half full, simply compress the air out and it'll shrink right up and take up half the space.- awesome. Will be getting a few more of these.
