Rated2out of5byRobertR27fromNicely proportioned. Poor workmanship.I bought this backpack to use to lug around my laptop and other work paraphernalia. It was a replacement for a backpack that I had for over four years (which had just burst a zipper). This bag was lighter and a little smaller than the one it replaced (which is a good thing). Unfortunately, I have encountered problems with the workmanship and design that make me doubt it was a wise purchase. First, the large rear pocket (which has a a protective padded 'envelope' for a laptop) has a double zipper which is pulled by a cord. The cord broke within a week (I was not even using it that much). As far as I am concerned, this is unforgivably poor design and workmanship) . I have attached a key chain device to the zippers - which works fine. In terms of design, this backpack would appear to be expressly designed for laptops, etc, yet retains assorted straps and buckles which dangle and look somewhat 'messy'. I have used elastic bands to keep it tidy, but I do feel the manufacturers need to modify the design to make the produce look less like a camping / hiking bag.

Rated4out of5byAmazonAshfromPleased with this perfect pack!I used this pack every day for a 9 day medical mission trip in Honduras. I managed to fit everything I needed in it and a stuff sack. What attracted me to this pack was the retractable zipper pouch which I put my passport and tickets in, along with cash for the trip. It fits snuggly under the lower back cushion so it's against your body at all times. I also loved the two main compartments, there's a lot more room in there than you think! I fit a pair of CHACAS, flat sandals and moccasins along with a gallon bag with all of my carry on liquids in the pouch closest to my back, I removed a pouch with in that can cushion a laptop or tablet as I didn't need it. In the second one I fit a small stuff sack with my underwear, sports bras and socks, along with 2 outfits rolled up. A book, and journal were squeezed in somewhere too! There was a great small zipper pocket that was lined with a soft fuzzy lining that I kept my headlamp and digital camera in. The small section at the front has several pockets inside and I managed to fit several meal bars, bag of jerky, bag of prescriptions and basic first aids along with toiletries. Not to mention two nets on either side of the outside of the pack which I kept 2 water bottles in at all times, one a 1 liter bottle, one a 24 ounce. The compartments are deep, and even when the pack was stuffed it was comfortable. Once I got settled in the haciendas I was to stay in I used it as more a of a day pack, and it was perfect for fitting my lunch and supplies for the day. Even when walking around on the one day my group and I were tourists looking at Myan ruins, the pack was my best bud. I had one zipper tab snap on me, otherwise I am incredibly happy with my purchase! I encourage travelers to get rid of those roller carry-ons and get this pack.

Rated4out of5byMike In Parker,COfromGreat for downsizingI own the larger Power Pack and have had it for quite a while and it has been a favorite to travel with. I wanted to downsize a bit since I no longer carry a laptop, just a tablet. This pack works well and would work well with a laptop as well due to the slide out pocket - that's a nifty design. I am returning it for an exchange and hope mt problem was just a freak occurrence as the zipper pull broke within 5 days. First the pull broke (became shorter), then it literally broke off in my hand while zipping the pack. I really like Outdoor Products and hope this is just a strange thing and not a sign of them using some cheap metal for their pulls, so I'm going to try and get the same pack in exchange, but if it breaks the same way, then I will have a problem. I like the design and functionality, especially the extra pockets and would give this 5 stars if it wasn't for the zipper pull issue.

Rated5out of5byNick the Dog WalkerfromSuper for air travelI was looking for a bag for extended travel that would accommodate my laptop, accessories, papers and snacks, materials etc. etc. I checked out this product on line and also talked to a sales associate at REI who confirmed this was the bag I should order. Some of the neat features have been described in other reviews. I like things organized and this bag has a pocket for everything. If you travel with a 15in. lap top, check this bag out first.

Rated3out of5byjabfromEmphasized utility over qualityI use the backpack to go to and from classes. I travel regularly and appreciate the extra thought in the built-in pull out laptop case and secure stow pockets. It could use some more capacity, but its good enough for my work. I did have to return the first bag I purchased due to some seams that were visibly weakening. Definitely not the most rugged bag and I wouldn't recommend it for rough or rugged trips.

Rated5out of5byededfromBest all-around small commuter daypackAfter having shopped around for a commuter daypack/travel pack, I stumbled on the Powerpack Glide 2.0. This pack contains features that are unique and extremely useful for travellers. A hidden zip-pocket in the back padding is perfect for holding passports, ID, and cash safe from thieves, while an elastic pull-out compartment in the back padding pulls out to the side for holding items needed for easy access - such as boarding passes. The dedicated sunglass compartment is a nice touch, as it has a soft material on the inside and is placed above all the other compartments to keep your optics from being crushed. A small zip-up compartment and elastic water-bottle holding mesh on each side of the bag is useful, although are not large enough to hold anything but small water bottles.
The laptop sleeve is small, with only enough space for a 13", 1-inch thick laptop. However, because the sleeve is removable and also pulls out of the pack while attached due to two ingeniously placed webbing "rails", it is hands-down the easiest laptop bag to pass through airport security. It is also the easiest laptop bag to put laptops into and take out of because the sleeve can be raised out of the bag. It's a little hard to describe, but testing out this feature in the store will make its benefits obvious to you.
The disadvantage of this bag is, as you may have guessed, a lack of capacity. It is not for anyone who needs to hold lots of "stuff". However, for anyone who needs to travel securely, internationally, light, and needs ease-of-access, there's really no better bag in my opinion.

Rated5out of5byNLofromExcellent Multi-Purpose Pack!I needed a backpack that I could bike to school/work comfortably in, and I also needed it to hold a fair amount of textbooks and a laptop. After trying on 8-10 options, I settled on this pack, and I am so glad I did! It is extremely comfortable, with well-padded straps. The compartments were well thought out in terms of size and placement (e.g. easy access phone compartment). My only complaint is that it doesn't come in a wider range of colors. I would have died for this in purple!
