    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Timbuk2 Yield Pannier - Single is rated 3.75 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very useful My first accessory for my new Felt Cafe 8 bicycle. The bike is used to run around town, most times carrying items from grocery store. I am a big fan of Timbuk2, as I have had a messenger bag for more than a decade, still functional after heavy use over the years. I was very excited to see they also had a pannier of the type I wanted for the new bike. I've been using now for two months, and very happy with how well it is attached to the bike. Previous style panniers (grocery type bags) have fallen off over rough roads. I look forward to many years of use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but could use better organization I use this for commuting to work. It's one of the only, and probably the most inexpensive, panniers with a laptop sleeve. Because of the laptop weight, I only carry the laptop on Monday and Friday, and leave it locked up at work during the week. It's nice and small, so my heel doesn't hit it as much compared to more boxy panniers (I have a compact road bike and a size 10 shoe). The only downside is I wish it had a small pocket inside the main compartment. I keep my bike tools on the outside/top compartment, but due to their weight, they often cause the pannier to flop over if it's sitting on the floor by my desk. It would be nice to put those on the inside since they're rarely used, and put small work items in the top pocket (pens, phone chargers, etc.). Other thing to point out is it's fairly small, which is good for keeping it light, but in cold weather, it can be hard to fit all your work clothes inside. Oh, if you use a handlebar-end mirror, it's possible it may block a good portion of your view if the pannier is full.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Timbuk2 I like the bag but after one week the latching mechanism fell off. Was replaced right away.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job, but ... I use this pannier for bike commuting. It will hold a laptop and a change of clothes (including shoes), so it is a good size for me. (Note that it won't hold much more than than that, though). I found the adjustments quite flexible and easy to mount on the bike. The bag has been quite stable when mounted as well. There are two areas where I think that the bag could be better: - first, in wet weather, the contents of the bag definitely get damp. While the nylon itself seems waterproof, there seem to be seams or other places where water seeps in. - second, the bag could use one extra pocket. It has a laptop sleeve in the main compartment and a fairly large top pocket. A smaller pocket in the main compartment would be useful to carry small items that you don't want to access during the ride. Overall, I'm satisfied ... but I might choose a different bag if I was buying again just for better weatherproofing.
