I wanted a durable heavier softshell for snowshoeing, nordic skiing, and other high aerobic activities.

There is a King Pin jacket that Marmot makes that looks awesome. This is not it. Why there was such a similar name, I don't know (perhaps it was a special production make for REI which never became a mass-produced product)...who knows?

However, I called Marmot who had no record of a Key Pin jacket and they assured me it must be a seller website typo. It's not. The tags say "Key Pin" also. So first - know what you're getting.

I returned this before using because the fit was so poor. I think "Angel Wing Movement" is possible in part because they cut the underside of the sleeves quite a bit higher so the jacket doesn't pull up when you lift up your arms. UNFORTUNATELY, on this jacket those sleeves are cut all the way up in the armpits, which make that portion of the jacket a really uncomfortable fit. I couldn't see myself comfortable walking down the street, let alone adventuring.

By the way, I'm 5'11" 185 lbs and ordered the medium.

I ended up purchasing the Marmot Super Gravity jacket which is very similar and I love it. It's made out of their M1 softshell material which is very durable, breathable, fleece lined and a great fit in the Medium.
