Rated4out of5byMike CfromNice JacketLike most Marmot jackets this jacket is pretty trim in the waist area. I wear a Large in most brands except Marmot where I am a XL. I have a average build (5'11 / 215 lbs) This is a nice jacket and would say that is compares to the ROM. I really like the windstopper fabric. I havent put this through the paces yet, but so far I like it a lot. I only wish REI would have done a price adjustment when they lowered the price by $25 two weeks after I bought it.

Rated4out of5byNaturalisticfromGreat jacket!!I purchased this jacket to fill my need for a mid range of temperature, around town, on the mountain, or in the forrests. I love this coat! It is much thicker than the "King Pin" as previously mentioned, which for me is perfect. the light thin soft shells don't impress me. I have used this from bike commuting to and from work in the chilly winter, wet spring, and windy fall. I used this as my only jactet while backpacking thruogh the sierra range and with a sweater was more than warm enough in the 20's at altitude. The cold wind never touched me.
The fit is a touch large for what I was anticipating, but I like it more than I thought I would, being able to layer for colder weather if needed. The angle wing is great for climbing, the back length staying tucked into the harness. I am 6'2" and 180 athletic. the fit is great, a bit loose in the chest but not overly snug with a sweater.

Rated2out of5byCSMCFfromCareful - not "Kingpin"I wanted a durable heavier softshell for snowshoeing, nordic skiing, and other high aerobic activities.
There is a King Pin jacket that Marmot makes that looks awesome. This is not it. Why there was such a similar name, I don't know (perhaps it was a special production make for REI which never became a mass-produced product)...who knows?
However, I called Marmot who had no record of a Key Pin jacket and they assured me it must be a seller website typo. It's not. The tags say "Key Pin" also. So first - know what you're getting.
I returned this before using because the fit was so poor. I think "Angel Wing Movement" is possible in part because they cut the underside of the sleeves quite a bit higher so the jacket doesn't pull up when you lift up your arms. UNFORTUNATELY, on this jacket those sleeves are cut all the way up in the armpits, which make that portion of the jacket a really uncomfortable fit. I couldn't see myself comfortable walking down the street, let alone adventuring.
By the way, I'm 5'11" 185 lbs and ordered the medium.
I ended up purchasing the Marmot Super Gravity jacket which is very similar and I love it. It's made out of their M1 softshell material which is very durable, breathable, fleece lined and a great fit in the Medium.
