I bought this hat because of the sun protection and the chin strap. (Not to mention, the floral lining and edges is subtly cute!) In the sun on a long hike, it keeps my head comfortable and not too sweaty. It didn't blow off in the wind, and though I got it pretty dirty while hiking, all the dirt came out when I handwashed it. Lay it flat to dry.

This hat was definitely worth the price I paid. I am confident it will do the trick on my trip to Brazil this summer, when I will be walking around 10+ miles a day and will need sun protection. I would definitely purchase another!
