like other reviewer, I ordered a large which is my usual size, but i was shocked at how tight the gloves felt, though I liked the padding. I returned them to REI and am waiting on a pair of XL--if they don't work I will be sure to update.

I wear XL, I ordered XL. The fit is so tight that I cannot fully engage the velcro fastener. Too bad they do not sell an XXL.
The palm padding is thick and supple. It makes for a comfortable grip. The absorbant material on the back of the thumb is soft, large and comfortable for soping your brow. But those great qualites work against you in the heat of the summer. On days over 80ºF, I find the gloves retain too much heat.
I'll keep them for for those days that are between 45º and 70ºF. They are a good value, but are not my favorite pair of gloves.

I bought size Large (I usually get medium or large) which ended up feeling very tight. The seams wore right on top of my knuckles which is very unconfortable. The depth of the glove did not reach my wrist. Perhaps if I bought XL I might like them. The padding seems to be good and in the right place.
