Comments about Jones 30L Snowboard Pack:

I ordered this pack and I really thought that it would be a good pack to try and do some light weight backpacking/camping and splitboarding with. I was wrong. It was way to small and it seems to be more for people who are just going out for a day and not doing long trips in the backcountry. Now, keep in mind I like to go out for days at a time and have all the gear I need to stay alive for an extended period of time. This is not what this pack is for. It is for day trips and resort riding. If you really wanted to do a short day trip in the backcountry with it you could, but nothing more.

It carries the board really well though! Split boards, regular boards. I have tried both on this pack and it works really well. But let's think about this for a minute... I find a mountain, I want to climb that mountain.. I will need snow shoes or crampons, plus my avalanche gear, food, among other things that I may find important to have on such a trip, at this point, this pack is loaded, with little room to spare. This is not a pack to do multiple day trips in at all, and if you want to be really safe and have an avy lung, you will have to spend at least another 140 dollars on just that alone.

It does have the rear entry, which is nice, but so does the black diamond outlaw ski pack, which comes with an avy lung and is a little bigger and more versatile AND only 50 buck more, relatively.

Over all this pack was not for me. Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes! If that friend was not doing any difficult climbs or difficult split board trips. This pack, to sum it up, is a really AWESOME day/resort, it carries a board, pack. I would not take it into the backcountry at all.
