Good but overvalued

For comparison, this jacket is in roughly the same category as the MH Kelvinator and perhaps the Marmot Ama Dablam. While this jacket is warm, fits well, and seems fairly durable, it isn't worth the asking price. It's a good jacket, don't get me wrong, but for the money there are clearly better options available. If you can get this for a significant discount I would recommend it. Otherwise you're probably best looking elsewhere. Overall my only complaint apart from the asking price is that the hood can only be cinched down around the face, there is no other adjustment available. While the cuffs are non-adjustable elastic, they fit well enough that I see no need to knock them.

Solid jacket

I purchased this jacket about a month ago (December, 2013)from REI-outlet, and have worn it every day since. Overall, it is a solid jacket (and good value, having used a discount coupon for the purchase). The mediun size fits me well (5'10", 155lb): It is roomy enough to fit over additional layers (baselayer, shirt, & fleece pullover), which is important when the temp drops below freezing. In inclement weather, one can wear a rain jacket over the down -- the nylon shell allows easy on/off without grabbing/bunching. I haven't had any issues with the zipper -- an extra ribbon of stiffer material is sown onto the zipper flap to prevent the flap from getting snagged. There are two spacious internal pockets, but unfortunately they lack zippers. The jacket hood is roomy, and *might* accomodate a thin-profile climbing helmet. Overall I am pleased with the product.

Great So Far

I bought this jacket a couple of weeks ago. I have worn it most days since in dry weather with temperatures ranging from about 25 to 50 degrees. I have not been outside for a great length of time, just back and forth to work and working in the yard a little. I actually got too hot in the jacket when it was in the 40s. In the 30s it seems just right. I think it is ok in the 20s, but not for a great length of time. It is very light weight and so far I love the jacket. I do think it is overpriced, even on clearance, but I had a coupon to knock the price down to around $100 and I think that its a decent value at that price. I would have a hard time paying a lot more than that for it. I measured myself for the jacket before I ordered and based on that I should have gotten a small, but I usually wear a medium so I chanced it and got a medium. It fits snug. There is no way a small would have fit.

Good Jacket for the money

This is a quality jacket for cold conditions. I was a bit skeptical of how it would be because of the name brand and the inexpensive price but I have been impressed so far. My main wish is that it were just a bit longer. Reaching up pulls the jacket above my belt and can be chilly.

Just got this coat not put to test in Weather

Just received this Jacket was please with the feel and light weight. I usually wear a XL but from some of the reviews I got a XXL. I am 6'2" weight 210 It fit great I wanted to wear layers under the Jacket. I can wear three layer under this jacket. For example T shirt, Sweater or Flees Shirt and a zip up wool/polyester light weight jacket. I also just tried it with a T shirt not to big. I would recommend you go a size larger in the coat.

Nice Looking but Not that Warm

The review title says it all. This jacket is really sharp looking but not as warm as I'd like. It's super lightweight, which would make it easy to roll and carry in a pack. But I'd prefer that it were heavier and warmer.

Good quality, good fit.

I haven't had a chance to wear it in cold weather yet so I can't speak to its warmth; however, I am very pleased with the quality and fit of this down jacket. I'm 5' 11" and 165 lbs and the size Large fits me just right... just the fit that I had hoped for. It's not excessively loose and has just the right amount of room for a fleece layer inside. A very nice jacket for the $80 clearance price.

Great Jacket!

I had this jacket for 2 weeks and so far, it was everything I thought it would be - lightweight, warm, and comfortable. I am not an avid outdoorsman (going to the mountains every weekend), but I do look for outdoor quality features. Fit - It seems like to have a modern cut, therefore, it is form fitting. But got a large & it fits me (5'9", 185lbs, usually buys XL and dries it down to somewhere in between L and XL). Quality - It doesn't get below or even close to freezing here (winter low is about 40s), so I only can compare it with wet rainy condition we just had. Definitely wind proof & warm (had tshirt and this jacket only), and the rain beads off the jacket as I run from the parking lots to the stores. The description did not said this jacket is rain proof, but I am dry after some good rain. Style - nice slim fit look, the hood is not droopy, and the jacket doesn't look too puffy. Overall, I am pretty happy with it so far, I hope it will last forever :)
