OK, it's (relatively) heavy. It's a queen mattress so it's not designed for backpacking. I hesitated to buy an air mattress as the reviews are always mixed. I love my REI 3.5 pad but sometimes I just want to stretch out in comfort. I really didn't want to deal with the inflating/deflating/packing of a mattress but the pump makes it so easy. Note: after the first use it inflated very quickly...less than a minute. The deflate feature saves a lot of time, too. Let the pump do the work and just fold it up. Pump stays charged for several uses. Contruction is very solid. If you lose your pump check your camera bag. It does look a lot like a 35mm camera lens! The material does stretch with use so do not assume that the mattress is leaking.
