Comments about Mountain Hardwear Dome Ruinart Hat:

This has been my go-to hat for mountaineering and winter hiking for several years now, and I love it. It's a tad small and thin for serious conditions, and I'm looking to upgrade to something that's a bit warmer and larger this year, but it has served me well, and I love it. Very comfortable (and I itch with most hats), pulls down just over my ears without getting in front of my eyes, and slips nicely under a hood or helmet any time. Basically, exactly what a beanie should do: Keep you comfortably warm without getting in the way of anything else.
My only con is that it is a tad short and wide. This may be due to repeated washing over time, or the shape of my head, so it still gets 5 stars.

Nice hat, windproof material, but fits me just a bit loose. The wind can come from below and try to remove the hat from my head since it wraps down over my ears. I wanted a hat that covered my ears more fully and was windproof so I went with this one. It fits nicer than others however, many hats are too tall and do not fit tightly against my head. I returned a Mountain Hardwear Micro Dome for that exact reason.

I don't understand the purpose in the semi circle pieces near the ears, would rather have it be just fleece material.
