    Don't let the small size fool you. The Mammut T-Peak headlamp has a bright beam that will light up the night on glacier climbs and backpacking trips.

    • Headlamp features 1 high-output LED and 2 standard LEDs that combine to give you 5 brightness levels and 1 emergency strobe to meet your needs on nighttime adventures
    • For simple lighting tasks use the standard LEDs on low or high; for long-range lighting, use the high-output LED on high or dual mode (high-output LED with standard LEDs)
    • Special boost mode gives you a short blast of light that outputs 90 lumens and throws a beam up to 70m
    • Strobe mode allows the light to blink 6 times per minute so that it can be left on as a beacon in an emergency
    • 3 AAA batteries (included) provide up to 100 hrs. of use on low and 20 hrs. on high; battery-life indicator lets you know when the batteries are running low
    • Double-click switch-lock prevents accidentally running down the batteries while the headlamp is stowed in your backpack

      Comments about Mammut T-Peak Headlamp:

      This product is a good value for money. The combined output of all the LEDs produces bright, crisp light that extends quite a good distance. At the same time, the lower brightness is adjustable to make reading possible without keeping tent mates awake with harsh light while reading, etc. It also has an outstanding range of pitch, allowing for light to be pointed straight out in front or down towards one's hands quite easily and quickly. This may reduce the overall durability due to hinges, but it seems fins so far.

      The lack of a red light feature is a bit of a disappointment, though. Particularly when nature calls at night, I like to be able to exit the tent with minimal disruption to my night vision. It's always nice to have a view while you're out at night...

      And yes, this was a gift. I like it a lot.
