Comments about Columbia River Lift Off 2 Combo-Edge Knife - 2010 Overstock:
Hard to find anything good to say about this knife. Very disappointed in the design and performance. It is an assisted opening knife, but would not fully deploy until the pivot screw was loosened so far out that the blade would wiggle. Feels cheap in the hand (although some like a very lightweight knife). For this price, you can get a much higher quality knife from Kershaw or Gerber. Returned it and probably won't buy another CRKT product.

Comments about Columbia River Lift Off 2 Combo-Edge Knife - 2010 Overstock:
I think this ia a great knife! It fits my small hands perfectly, and opens and closes easily. I carry this knife with me everywhere and have had it now for 8 months and it still works great. I have not had any of the problems that the previous reviewer had, perhaps he just got a bad knife. I have 2 assist-open CRKTs and my boyfriend also has one, and neither of us had any problems. Yes, they do need to be cleaned from time to time in order to maintain a full and quick assisted-opening, but, to me, that's just common sense. I will only buy CRKT knives from now on, since I have had problems with Kershaws in the past.

Excellent knife, no issues with the assisted opening mechanism. Seems solidly put together, no wiggle, very happy with the purchase.

Comments about Columbia River Lift Off 2 Combo-Edge Knife - 2010 Overstock:
This is my first knife in forty years that wasn't a "Swiss Army" type. I figured I should get a simple carry-around knife, at a modest price, and safely. This knife was on sale. It is beautiful, appearance-wise! But, opening it is scary, as it often gets to the fully-open position, but not lock open; instead, dropping back to an intermediate detente position. The only way i've found to make the knife feel safe to [1] turn the knife blade-side up, then [2] manually "nudge" the locking bar into it's intended locking position. Sadly, that same locking bar can also complicate closing the knife, as i often have to push it to the "fully unlocked" position. Overall, I sure wouldn't loan the knife to anyone whose fingers i care about.

This is a great knife at a wonderful price. I previously had a CRKT but lost it a few years ago and needed to replace it. Picked this gem up on a REI deal-of-the-day and love it. It features a sharp blade and the assisted opening works perfectly. I highly recommend it for daily activities or general camping/hiking/fishing adventures.
