Comments about Sunlite HL-L180 LED Front Bike Light - 2010 Closeout:
I suggest that you replace the batteries; Eveready rechargeable NiMHs, for instance, offer twice the available current at 2300mAH. Also, be careful if you mix up the charger with others you may own. The recharging socket in the battery pack is fragile and won't tolerate you trying to use an incorrectly sized plug. The handlebar mount tends to slip, even when the strap is as tight as possible, so you'll have to include a grippier strip of rubber.

Comments about Sunlite HL-L180 LED Front Bike Light - 2010 Closeout:
The product description is somewhat misleading. There is a battery charger included. No instruction manual was in the box. Battery life is implied as 8 hours for all three modes in the description and on the box. I believe that should be 8 hours in flash mode and no more than 6 hours in low, about 4 hours in high. There are 4 NiMH AA-size cells in series, 1.2 V at 1250 mAH each, in the pack.
I like that it's water-resistant and recyclable.

Comments about Sunlite HL-L180 LED Front Bike Light - 2010 Closeout:
The light itself is great, but the equipment needed to power it is rather annoying. There's a cable that you have to run to some point on the frame, and it's not exactly the easiest to run. There's also a wallet sized battery pack that must be mounted somewhere on the frame, but it doesn't mount well, and doesn't stay put. It also takes up valuable frame space. I would sacrifice some battery life if there were a better way to mount the battery pack.
