Comments about Baffin Approach Soft-Shell Trail Shoes - Men's - 2010 Closeout:
I ordered the shoe due to its looks - I liked the all-black, 'urban' and sleek exterior (not your typical rugged hiking shoe). I would've used these as my casual winter shoes - they are waterproof.
Unfortunately the shoes are way too small. I typically wear 8.5 in athletic shoes; ordered these in 9 (based on hearing that these run small), but my toe hits the front of the shoe even in very thin socks.
It also feels like the lacing does not come high enough to make the shoes feel secure around the ankle. So my big toe is jammed, while the heel is loose.
Too bad - it's a cool looking shoe, but there's just something wrong with its design.

Comments about Baffin Approach Soft-Shell Trail Shoes - Men's - 2010 Closeout:
Thought I was buying a good pair of approach hikers or casual hikers. Wanted a pair of low top, outdoor, waterproof hikers. These filled all my criteria except they are a bit too loose to be good trail hikers. I decided to keep them becaue they are great waterproof casual shoes I wear out around town or for yard work around the house. I agree with other reviews that laces don't sinch high or tight enough to make them functional hiking boots. But for outdoor, wetweather, street or casual use, they look good, are comfortable, and seem durable so far. Whole sizing is a little tricky, I usually wear 10.5 and went with 10... it works, but I would have preferred 10.5 (based on the looser fit, I think an 11 would have been way to big for me).
