I was initially excited to find a product that looked as good as the Ortlieb panniers but for a much better price. I bought these panniers several months ago for commuting about 5 miles to work in the Seattle rain on a road bike.
Even with adjusting the hook on the back all the way forward so that the bag could sit as far back on my rack as possible, I still hit it with the back of my heel. And when I hit it at a certain angle, the top clip comes undone, and the pannier falls off my rack. I was kicking it at this angle about once every block or two. I jerry-rigged it to stay on my bike by passing the top strap through my rack before clipping it, so at least it stays on my bike. That said, I'm 5'5" and my bike is small as well (52 cm), so taller people with bigger bike frames might not have the same problem. I wish I'd sprung for the Ortlieb ones in retrospect.

Yes these are not ortlieb panniers. I would agree, the material is much less durable than the ortlieb panniers. With that said, I did a 1000+ mile tour with these panniers and not once did they tear, fall off my racks, or leak any water. If you are on a budget like I was I totally recommend these panniers. Happy touring and keep the rubber side down.

I saw the sale price of [$] for these and snapped them up. When I saw the other ratings/comments, I was a bit worried about buying these panniers. However, when they arrived (very quickly I might add!) they were a good durable material and the plate to attach them to the bike rack is very well designed.My only quibble is that there are two screws on the inside of the bag from the mounting plate that scratched holes in the cover of my laptop the first time I used the panniers - boo!

I bought these and some ortliebs and the difference was phenomenal. These are cheap! Made of flimsy material that feels like it will tear if you look at it incorrectly. I promptly returned them.
