I bought these for my 5 and 8 year olds. They are just like adult fivefingers and the girls love them. The only problem is getting them on. It's tough for the 5 year old to line the toes up and get them in the right slot. Once she does she is off and running. We've only had them a few days, so maybe she will get better at it.

Comments about Vibram FiveFingers KSO Multisport Shoes - Kids':
We got these shoes for my 5 year old daughter who was born loving anything that glitters, wearing skirts, and high heels. I wasn't sure that she would like them but we wanted them for somewhat of an "intervention" reason. She has a terrible habit of picking her toenails and she has destroyed them. I needed to cover up her toes, but socks/shoes are too easy to slip off to start picking her nails. I wanted something that wasn't easy to take off and would still be healthy for her feet to be in all day.
The first time you try to help your child into these shoes, expect it to take a while. For our daughter who was pitching a fit, it took a very long while. We gently and firmly held our ground. Once having them on, she said they made her feet want to do things. We first walked around a grocery store, and she wanted to walk every aisle. She tried picking up a grocery basket with her feet! She said they were fun.
Putting them on every time after that certainly did get easier. She can do it herself now and it takes one to two minutes instead of fifteen.
Get measured in the store! She is a medium width and measured a US kid size 11 (I think) and so would have needed a vibram vfive finger size 29. But it was too small of a width to fully get her feet in. We knew it would be hard to try them on, but still, it just didn't seem to be working. I asked for the next size up (30) just so she could have the extra room to learn how to put them on. It is hard at first to learn how to get each toe in each pocket. The child has to be fully participating in order to accomplish this. Don't think that you'll be able to slip it on for him/her. Once it was on, It was hard to know if it was on right. Her short stubby toes barely, if at all, reach the pockets. Only the big toe is fully in the pocket. I don't think her last toe is even in it, but it fits her great everywhere else on her foot. most of her middle toes are partly in. Dont think that you'll get a larger size for them to grow into and thus wear longer before outgrowing. It needs to fit snug.
These have accomplished what I wanted them for. Although she loves matching outfits, skirts, glitter, and being pretty, she still likes these shoes. She likes how they feel. She has gotten used to how to put them on. We use them for around the house, running errands, taking walks. She is starting to get a slight rub on her left instep though. I'm gonna try a bandaid to see if it keeps from rubbing. Seems to be from an inner seam in the shoe. Vibram should consider the inner shoe to be smooth if it's going to fit snug.

I am an adult with a TINY foot. I usually wear a 32 or 33 in children's shoes. I was thrilled that these came in kids. I had heard so many good things about them. I ran in them the first day I got them and the guy at REI had told me that the first time you run in them you will only be able to do about 1/3 of what you typically run. He was correct. I typically run 3 mi a day and I made it through one mile before i realized I was using muscles I had never used before. These shoes force you to build strength in your feet and ankles, but don't try to go all out long distance running right at first until you build up those muscles. Overall, I am extremely happy with them and bought a second pair.

Try to buy these for my two boys 6 and 4. They have wide feet I couldn't get their feet in. Not even with 2 size larger. I own a pair myself and love them and I want them for my kids. I hope they make another style for kids. So watch out for wide feet!!!!

Initially very hard to put them on a 5 year old. Hard enough that returning them was not far from my mind! However, the second time she put them on by herself. 3rd time she wore them to school. Getting them on has been getting easier and easier!

I love these shoes as does my 7 year old. they feel amazing and are addicting...I want to wear them all the time! The only issue I have is I casualy scraped the top of my big toe and tore the fabric. was hoping for a more durable fabric. I'm clumsy, but they really should have been more durable. I have the JAYA I WILL be buying another pair, and another pair...and another pair!! I also feel like I'm going to get in trouble when I go shopping. It's like being in my bare feet...so lovely..Don't hesitate! Try them on and you will fall in love! My 7 year old wore them out of the store and
wears them all the time. Just throw them in the washer

I purchased a pair of Five Fingers in the store for myself and they were so comfortable! My 7 year old wanted some [...] We got his pair 4 days ago and he lives in them from the time he wakes up until the time he goes to bed. They are a bit of a challenge to get on and needs some help still, but I think he will get it soon. He loves them! He does everything in them and seems to have no attention on his feet at all.

This is the best shoe bar none for children! It helps keep their stride natural as it should be. My daughter who's 6 yrs old loves these, she has never had any problems with the fit or discomfort of anykind. The only thing we ever had a problem with is getting them on but that's due to the fact that her instep is so high. As far as her little toes she just lines them up while slowly inching them on. Having these for the last year has been the best investment of shoes for her yet! With the range of use being so vast, they are by far one of the best shoes to own here in the hot desert. Especially with the hot sand & cool water! Flip flops & heavy clunky shoes are no match for these VFF!
I just bought the girls speed VFF for her because she has out grown these, I will post a review on those as well for a comparison once we've had time to test them out.

My local store was having a BOGO sale, so I thought why not pick these up for my 4yo son? I love the fact that his little feet are allowed to bend & flex & be free without getting hurt or poked. He loves these & calls them his "monster feet"! Lol! I find that worth it right there:) I did get them a size too big as that was all they had left. Which was actually fine as I needed the extra room to be able to work his toes into the pockets & he has high in steps so the tops of his feet are very high. I don't think I could get his feet in the right size(once he can help me & understand what he is trying to accomplish by repetition, then I think this won't be an issue as he gets into this size fitting tighter).
I love my VFFs and my hubby & 2 boys do as well. They could be more durable as holes happen & seams get caught, but sometimes I think we are more adventurous & active with these on, so we tend to get ourselves in "trouble". But honestly, anything that gets you off the couch & climbing a tree or jumping into a pond from a rock you just climbed because you CAN can bust a seam or two and we won't complain!

Great shoe, agree with all positive comments here. My daughter at 3.5 years old does love them! However:
Like the other reviewer, "RaysOfSunshine" from Charlotte NC indicated, there appears to be a design flaw (?) with his and now my daughters shoes, in that there is slight rubbing on the left instep. It manifested in a 'water blister' on her foot.
This occurred after day #3 of wearing the shoes. I will look into what may be causing the rubbing and hopefully it can be remedied.
Otherwise the shoe is great and inspiring for her to wear! We hope the rubbing issues of the left instep can be fixed by the manufacturer, and am not inclined to recommend shoe until addressed.
Thanks!
