Comments about Alpen Shasta Ridge 8 x 42 Binoculars:

So, here's the deal... I should of bought a set of Nikons. I was drawn to this pair because of the price and because they were water proof and fog proof, but within less than a day of field use the mechanism was allowing them to fall slightly out of focus and they were putting noticeable strain on my eyes. In addition they catch some major glare in the morning and right before sunset. I have also noticed that birds seem to be more sensitive to my presence because of them, it seems like the lenses are actually scaring birds away like I have glowing eyes or something. Bottom line, I will be returning these!
