this is a nice jacket, and a great deal. can't wait to be wearing it as i work as a lift attendant this year. i wore it on a climbing trip up mt adams and it seems to live up to what its supposed to do. the only complaint is that it has the zipper on the opposite side making it a bit awkward, but its not a big deal. it would have been nice to know this before i purchased it. i will be using this jacket in layering this winter and for use by itself on blue bird days.it is comfortable and well made. i am just having a problem about the zipper thing because it was never mentioned in the product description and rei is usually pretty good about including things like that. [...]. but now that i have it i will use it for layering.

I was trying this on after I received it via mail, and as soon as I go to pull the string for the hoodie, the elastic string rips right off. This is not made for long lasting use. I ended up returning it. Definitely not worth its original [$], or even the sale [$] price. Its not even worth the [$] price I got it for.

I have have to say, for what I paid for this at REI it is worth it to me. I am 6'1" 185lbs and athletic so I went with the large and it fits great. The outer shell material is well made and has good stitching all around. The inner linning is soft and cozy and seams to pull some moisture away from your body.

I have wore this jacket out in a small deluge and didn't get wet. And due to the good quailty of material and seams it has kept the wind out.

My only complaint is that the hood is "slumpy" and doesnt seam to fit very well. Maybe if you were to wear a helmet underneath it would be fine. Good thing it's removable.

Overall this jacket is a comfy, stylish, and keeps the NW weather at bay.
