Great shoes, very comfortable. Breathe well, good traction.

Comments about Ahnu Moraga Mesh Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
For some reason, my right foot needed a little of training in regards to the arch fit. Now that I've had them for about a month, they are great. The only downfall is that they do not keep water out if wearing on a rainy day or have to step in a shallow puddle. The salesman at the store assured me that they were waterproof, so that was a little disappointing. I bought the shoes primarily for warmer weather use, and they are very breathable and luckily even my socks dried quickly while wearing them.

Comments about Ahnu Moraga Mesh Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I've had merrells for a long time, probably 9 years (4 different pairs in 9 years), so I was a little hesitant to buy anything else but it was a good choice so far. Part of the reason that I went with Ahnu was the poor color selection in the merrell shoes at the REI store. These fit right out of the box, and have good cushioning. They appear to be well constructed although I've only had these for about a month. I wear them everyday for work where I am on my feet for at least 8 hrs a day and for day hikes, and the shoes meet all expectations for those activites.

Comments about Ahnu Moraga Mesh Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I picked up a pair of Moragas for a trip to Glacier NP because I wanted something lighter than my Wasatchs for the day hikes we had planned. Did a number of 12+ mile hikes in them and I was very pleased with how comfortable they are. They felt sturdy and supportive without being heavy. The toe box is quite protective for something that's not a full-blown boot.
I can't speak to the traction in wet weather, but I didn't notice a problem when the soles were wet from stream crossings.
(I've given up on women's boots as they tend to be too narrow for me)

Comments about Ahnu Moraga Mesh Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
This report is based on a 2.5 hr mtn hike the day I got them last week, followed by a 3700' trail climb and boulder hopping in Montana's Absaroka's three days later.
On dry surfaces and wet ground and small rocks this is a 5+ shoe, the best I've ever used in decades of hiking. I have sensitive forefoot bottoms and for that these were fabulous, i.e., the right combination of flex and cushion. For instance, on that second hike - six hours on often rocky trail, plus three hanging out on boulders, my feet were rarely more than slightly uncomfortable, and mostly not even that. Such a relief.
However, once I hit a wet rocks on very modest declines - large slabs, boulders and 12-24" ones along the trail - these shoes went straight out from under me like skis on ice. Every time! The first time, soon after a short, light bout of rain and hail, they sent me sprawling backward, me landing on hip, elbow and hand on a large rock slab, and ending up with a broken wrist. Subsequently over the next 2.5 hrs, I tested them again cautiously on wet boulders and rocks, and each time they immediately slid. Never experienced anything like it. Don't know if I hit a bad pair or batch or this is the way they are, but to the degree this is common these things should be pulled from the market. Caveat emptor.
Two attached photos show 1) type of rock that when wet sent me down (red figure in distance is just below where I actually fell), and 2) type of streamside rock where shoe immediately slid top to bottom (foreground right).

I'm very happy with this shoe. They are comfortable, something that's hard to find for a guy with wider feet. So far so good, they appear to be holding up nicely after several hikes...only time will tell.

Comments about Ahnu Moraga Mesh Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
This is my third pair of Ahnu shoes. I still have the other two pair. unfortunately when I bought the first pair I did not understand how my feet would change as a result of long distance backpacking and now they are too small for my feet. My second pair (Moraga Mesh boots) was a gift from Team Farsight (a team of blind hikers that ahnu sponsors) at last years annual day zero pacific crest trail kick off. I walked hundreds of miles in this pair of shoes and they are still going strong! I will continue to use them until they fall off my feet, I absolutely LOVE these shoes!
This new pair of Moraga Mesh cross trainers have some nice changes to the previous version of this boot that I was very happy to see making them even better than the last two pairs I have worn! I intend to thru-hike the PCT in these shoes this season. The only problem I found with them is they tend to be sized small. I had to increase to a 12 (normally I wear an 11 in hiker shoes, 10.5 in street shoes) Bottom Line, these shoes are absolutely perfect right out of the box with no break in required! If your looking for an affordable, long lasting rugged shoe that won't let you down, Ahnu is definitely the shoe to get!

This is a great shoe for moderate to difficult mountain trail hiking. Very comfortable and provides great support to my feet, especialy in the arch. Stiff soles great for mountain trails of crushed rock.

Comments about Ahnu Moraga Mesh Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
The shoes are comfortable. I wear them to work and for short hikes and they hold up well. I have high arches and appreciate the arch support. The laces are a little thin, so I'm unsure how long they'll last. If I wear the shoe for an extended period - more than a work day - it's not unusual to have sore feet at the end. I think this has to do with the cushioning, as the shoes don't pinch. I had a pair of Columbia day hikers that felt like I could wear them 24/7 and never get sore, and I've been looking for the perfect replacement ever since. These Ahnus are close.

Comments about Ahnu Moraga Mesh Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I love my Ahnus, though the particular model I have been wearing is no longer made. I just got a pair of the "Moraga Mesh" in-store to replace them (it was the closest model to the ones I have). The thing that is weirdest about Ahnu is their sizing. I almost always wear a 12, very occasionally a 13; but in Ahnu, a 14 is comfortable -- which is unprecedented -- and a 13 is noticeably too short. Most of the anti-Ahnu complaints I have seen online reference the shoes' length, and note that even going up a half-size did not cure the problem. I'd say: try going up a full size, or even two. But I love these shoes. I have gone through several pairs of other brands of shoes, trying to convince myself that they were comfy, but as to each I finally decided, after blisters and no successful break-in, that they were not okay. The Ahnus were bliss out of the box. Your mileage may vary.
