The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Keen Newport Sandals - Men's:
The big toe area has a rim around it and it has caused a hard callous to build up on my big toes. Also, my little toes get red on the top with these, although the footbed looks very nice and wide...So I have hardly worn these and plan to sell them. They are a quality, well made shoe but just don't work for my feet. Darn!

Comments about Keen Newport Sandals - Men's:
These are great sandals. I had them for a couple of years and wear them regularly. "Tough as nails", as another reviewer put it, is accurate. Also the toe box is not constricting, which is great as that usually is the deal killer for me in other sandals. I usually slip these on for most Spring/Summer/Fall days without tightening up at all. If I need extra traction I pull on the elastic to tighten to give me good support. Quick and easy. And the traction they provide is very good. The leather is holding up great. With any closed toed sandal like this, pebbles and what not that get caught in the toe box do not shake out with a mere lazy foot shake. I usually have to take off the sandal to get them out. Absolutely love love love the toe bumper. That bumper has saved me toes on many occasion. If these ever wear out I'll go back for another pair.

Only buy these sandals if you intend to keep them for a while. I have had them for over a year. I've been hiking, biking, golfing, and wearing them casually and they have not worn out. I normally wear orthodics and got these because they were comfortable. Forgot my golf shoes one day and had to play in these. no problems and no pain.

I have gone through numerous brands of sandals. I wear them in cold weather & warm weather.....Just have always preferred sandals over a full shoe. Tried Mephistos, Bikenstocks, Merrills, Tevas, Timberlands, & Clarks. The Keen Newports are by-far my favorites.[...]Hope Keen didn't stop making them.....

Comments about Keen Newport Sandals - Men's:
This is my 3rd pair of Keen Newports over 4-5 years. I wear them year around, but not outdoors in winter snows. For air travel they are great for getting through TSA inspections and in flight comfort. In warm destinations they can then serve as a general purpose daily shoe around town, on the beach and rural hiking. They drain well when wet, although it does take awhile for the leather to dry. When dried, the leather keeps its flexibility. When the last pair arrived a couple of months ago, the initial fit seemed tight. After a few days of indoor wear, the fit felt great. I like the boxy toe area for comfort. Arch support is good, but sometimes I will use my customized orthotics.

Comments about Keen Newport Sandals - Men's:
I bought my first pair of Keens 6 or so yrs ago. That pair had replaceable orthotics which were excellent in fit from the beginning. The second pair, Newport waterproof, had fixed footbed. It worked well with my orthotic and had the advantage of water resistance. I'm on my third pair now with complete satisfaction. I ordered my size based on my most comfortable shoes, ECCO. The initial fit feels tight. But, within a day the shoe adapted to my feet. I especially like the roomy and comfortable area at toes. I wear my Keens with and without socks with great comfort almost daily summer and winter. When I travel, I wear them for TSA checkins and on the plane (definitely comfortable on long flights, domestic and international). Then, when I have to, I switch to the "street" shoe. They wear well in street and "off trail" environments. They drain and dry well when wet. My wife also has 2 pairs (for street and travel) that that she thinks are great.

Comments about Keen Newport Sandals - Men's:
Keen sandals are fantastic if they fit your feet, and they fit mine very well. I assume the foot bed may not be right for everyone, but I have several pairs, including the Newports, and they are great for daily wear, light to moderate hiking, and in the water, eg., canoeing. I have just got back from canoeing in the Boundary Waters and hiking in the Sierra and wouldn't be without these sandals. For canoeing, they perform well in the water, dry fairly quickly, and have good traction. Because the leather is lined with thin neoprene, they actually have some insulating capacity. After several years of use on land and in water, mud, and muck, they still look good and perform very well. Just rinse them off. I've also tried Keen shoes, which look like they have the same foot bed, but they have never worked for me - not as comfortable as the sandals. But I can never have too many pairs of the sandals.

This is my favorite shoe. period. I wear them year-round and would recommend the leather newports over the H2 for durability.
