Comments about Osprey 3L HydraForm Reservoir - 100 fl. oz.:
Was missing the magnet that holds the hose to my pack. Called REI and received it in the mail a few days later. Thanks REI for the quick response.

This is my second Osprey water bag and I think they're the best around. I have platypus and camelback reservoirs as well and they just don't compare. The Osprey holds its shape in your bag, can be inserted or removed from a full pack without trouble and never leaks. Not only that, but you can remove the lid to fill it without a pair of channel locks.

Comments about Osprey 3L HydraForm Reservoir - 100 fl. oz.:
Overall, I really like this hydration pack. The opening is nice & wide for easy filling & the hose fits my pack. However, my first one developed a leak at the opening within a few months (rare for a Nalgene product); the bite valve on my second one did not hold up for more than a few months & only a few uses before developing a crack & springing a leak. I did go ahead & get a 3rd replacement (thank goodness for REI's return policy!), so we will see what this one brings--if it breaks in some way, think I'll move on to another brand, but for now it's great!

Hiking and climbing always with an Osprey pack I found the 100oz reservoir a perfect fit. The rare earth magnet clip is a cool feature. The handle makes filling quick and easy. Very stable in the pack.

The flat back design makes this really comfortable to carry in your pack. Also the thick material makes it very durable. I throw my pack around without thinking twice about bursting the reservoir, and I can't say the same for my old camelbak reservoir.

Comments about Osprey 3L HydraForm Reservoir - 100 fl. oz.:
I bought this because it was the cheaper alternative.. It worked great for the first few hikes. It is super easy to clean and the handle makes it equally as easy to fill. Also, the magnetic thing that holds the hose to your backpack really comes in handy! However, after about a month of every weekend use, the mouth piece started leaking. The entire right side of my shirt would be DRENCHED after about an hour. I take pretty long day hikes and didn't feel comfortable knowing of the 100 fl.oz of water I had, I could really only count on having about 80 fl.oz because the rest was leaking onto my shirt throughout the day!

The actual soft plastic bite valve is almost worthless. They easily crack and once they do you get water dripping or spraying all over. I am actually going to try to repair the 5 cracked valves I own with clear plastic wrapping tape.
You can NOT buy a package of replacements which is my major frustration because you can easily buy them for Camelbak products. I have bought 3 replacement 3L bladders, over $30 each, and one of the replacement tubing, over $12, for more of the simple bite valves. The rest of the stuff is just taking up space in my house. That is a lot of money for just one small component.
I know others who are upset with the cracking and leaking and they have moved to other vendors hydration bladders.

I hike a lot. I like the large capacity of the bladder. I carry lots of water because I need to drink a lot.
The semi transparent plastic bite valve, the thing that goes in my mouth, easily develops tiny cracks and then leaks. I have gone through 4 of these and they all develop the cracks and leak.
I would be willing to buy a bunch of just these items but Osprey does not sell them. I have bought one new bladder, over $32, and more than one new plumbing kit, over $12, just to replace the mouthpiece.

Comments about Osprey 3L HydraForm Reservoir - 100 fl. oz.:
The rigid frame-like handle allows me to fill this bladder while keeping it horizontal. I can fill it in a bathroom sink if I need to.
The lid doesn't leak as it is made by Nalgene. It's also bigger than a normal Nalgene lid, so I was able to take a kitchen whisk, put it inside the bladder (I don't have the drying/cleaning kit) and hang the thing out to dry by the loop on the bottom.
The plastic sheet on the back of the bladder works as advertised and is very comfortable, and positively effects the way my daypacks fit.
I am also pretty happy with the magnet on the bite valve that keeps the thing right where it should be (watch your pacemakers! Seriously, though it comes with a warning about that). The on/off function of the valve is also very good and would be easy to use with any gloves or mittens.
There is no loop on the top of the bladder, so it's alignment in the pack is dependent on the hydration pocket being small enough to keep it in place, and the plastic sheet to hold it up, which it does fine. This is a very minor gripe, and if you must have a loop, tie some 550 cord to the bladder and you're off to the races.

Comments about Osprey 3L HydraForm Reservoir - 100 fl. oz.:
I have an older Camelbak OMEGA reservoir but wanted to increase the reservoir volume. After much deliberation between this and the Camelbak Antidote equivalent i purchased the Osprey in preparation for a Florida theme park vacation in an effort to keep the family hydrated.
After making the comparisons between the 2 reservoirs in the store what i liked a little more about the Osprey was slightly easier to fill the reservoir with the handle, no pinch point exit on the bladder, magnetic attachment for the bite valve.
What i found while away was that i struggled some days to get a full reservoir into the hydration compartment section of the REI Lookout pack i had due to the stiffness of the hydration pack and connecting to the hook attachment, and that after 2 days of initial use, the bite valve literally came apart causing continual leaks for the remainder of the vacation time i used it. Even with the valve turned "closed" i still got some fluid drainage and had to eventually pinch the piping to stop the leak. This is turn also took a toll on the piping after a number of days of repetitive pinching. I also had a leak on the reservoir cap upon one use, but was able to resolve that issue quicker.
I have since returned the Osprey and reverted to the Camelbak Antidote 100oz bladder and have had no issues as yet on the few times of use.
I think the Osprey could be a good reservoir for use, but the design or quality of certain components requires to be reviewed / improved.
