The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Leatherman Crater C33x Serrated Knife:
This is an excellent knife for everyday use at a very reasonable price for a US-made product. It has one especially inspired piece of design: the bolster has a cutaway piece that chennels your thumb right to the thumbstud for quick and eay opening. The blade is made of good steel, and keeps its edge. The metal clip keeps it firmly clipped to your pocket, better than most. A very good bargain if you are looking for a basic, serviceable everyday knife.

Comments about Leatherman Crater C33x Serrated Knife:
Probably the best combo blade pocket knife you can buy for under $20. Bonus points for being US made.
This knife came out of its package nice and sharp. Equally useful for opening boxes, carving/shaving wood, and cutting rope or sticky tape. I thought it would be too bulky for wearing casually or at work, but it is slimmer and lighter than it looks. This knife replaced my Gerber Paraframe serrated knife, and I like it much better after less than one day of use. I haven't used it in the backwoods yet, but I intend to keep it clipped in my pocket whether I'm at work or camping.
Easy but secure one-handed opening with a nice molded groove in the handle for your thumb. It locks securely, and opens/closes smoothly.
I have no use for the bottle opener, but it is a well designed carabiner which folds away easily.
The only downside is that the handle looks and feels really plastic. There is a textured pattern molded into the handle, and while it certainly makes the knife lighter, it also makes it feel cheap.

Comments about Leatherman Crater C33x Serrated Knife:
This knife is really great just to use on an everyday basis. Very lightweight and no problems with durability. The blade is sharp, and the bottle opener is very convenient. It's small enough to keep in a pocket and if you would rather have it clipped onto a strap or something else, the carabiner is tough and you won't have to worry about the carabiner coming undone. And the best thing of all, it is a great knife at a great price.

Comments about Leatherman Crater C33x Serrated Knife:
This is a great knife for a great price. At first, I didn't want to buy it since it was serrated and my experiences with serrated knives in the past was that they weren't useful for anything but cutting rope. That was due to the fact that mine were cheaply made and could not hold an edge. This one, however, is awesome. There is something to the locking mechanism that makes it feel incredibly sturdy. The grip also feels firm and the thumb notch works great. The only problem is that you can't open the carabiner while the knife is closed because the tip of the blade and the carabiner mechanism rub and lock the blade and carabiner in the closed position. This may simply be due to a manufacturing defect, but it certainly does not ruin the product. The carabiner also is kind of wobbly when opened, but that isn't a big problem. Overall, it's an awesome product and is a great demonstration of Leatherman's quality.

Comments about Leatherman Crater C33x Serrated Knife:
Just got this knife as it was a good price and I added it onto an order out of impulse. We have a big camping trip coming up and I like knives with a carabiner clip as that can be used to pull up tent stakes. I was also looking to own a knife with an easy open tab.
I've not had this knife out of the house yet but this is what I have noticed so far, on the minus side:
- Fiddly to Open, for me.
This model does not open as easily as I would have thought. Not because the blade is stiff, but because the thumb tab intended for open "assist" seems to be a tad too close to the knife body for my thumb size, and it is a bit of a fiddle for me. I can't get the leverage needed for easy open. Actually, the easy open feature of the Leatherman Wave is way easier for me, even with gloves on. As a result, for me this is not really a one-hand opening knife. Bummer.
- Blade lock release recessed, a bit difficult to use. When wearing gloves, the lock release is fiddly to access and use. Again, much easier for me to use my Leatherman Wave, bare-handed or with gloves.
- The blade and carabiner closure feels "imprecise". It's hard to explain...there is not that feel of positive closure I am used to on knives. It feels like more of a friction fit...I guess it's something one would have to get used to.
On the plus side:
- Happy to see a Made in America product
- Blade is good quality, nice size and shape for everyday use or camping. I like serrations for their heavy duty cutting power.
- Body is nice size and shape.
- It comes sharp, but I expect that from a knife ;>
- Very lightweight.
Conclusion
For the price, this is a good knife. However, the fiddly nature of open and close (for me) make this one an unlikely companion on longer camping trips. If I can't consistently access the blade one-handed, hopefully with light gloves on, I am unlikely to carry.
