Comments about Light & Motion Stella 300 Dual LED Bike Light:
I picked up this light for xc trail riding at night. I really like the dual beams; one is a flood light and the other is a spot light and that combo really seems to work well. So the brightness and clarity are excellent. For trail riding though, you really need a light on your helmet in order to see around turns, and this light only mounts on handlebars. But the light itself is really nice. Quality seems excellent, nice and light weight and looks pretty cool too.

Comments about Light & Motion Stella 300 Dual LED Bike Light:
After 15 years of various single bulb rechargeable halogens and multi-LED non-rechargeable lights, I decided to quit being cheap.
I use these daily in the very dark, very wet, often very cold German winters. Daily commute is 12km of very dark forest/farmland, then 3km of twisting small-town road.
Through the forest, the high beam definitely gets the deer moving before I get to them. With the cheaper lights, I wouldn't see them until I was on top of them. I would like to see a on/off switch on the flood, because there are a few other cyclists/runners on the trails that get blinded by the flood.
In the town, I switch to flashing mode and it's eye-catching enough that cars 1-2 blocks down will stop and wait until I pass.
I would like to see a bit more warning of a low-battery. My commute is only 35 minutes. About 10 minutes into it, the flashing started and the incremental drop in power, which was fine. The light stopped completely just as I was getting to work, so it was only about 20-23 minutes of warning, even using only low beam.

Comments about Light & Motion Stella 300 Dual LED Bike Light:
I upgraded to the Stella 300 Dual from a NR Dual. Reason: Stella 300 has 3 hrs battery life! NR Dual has 1 hour 45 mins.
L and M battery waaaay better than NR battery. More powerful. Fits you bike better too.
However, I have to say that the Flood for this Stella 300 does not appear to be very effective. Looks to me like the flood lens just sends much of the beam back into the light instead of onto the road.
But, the non flood beam is awesome. A beautiful white light.
This light is worth the extra $ that you pay over the NR Dual.
I do consider this light a very good light. But, it's not a super terrific light.
