I bought these for my husband for Christmas. He was looking for a new brown casual boot that was comfortable. These boots look nice with jeans, but feel like a light hiking boot. My husband has said that they look like a hiking boot and feel like a sneaker. Also, it is nice that they come in large sizes as my husband wears a size 14.

love this boot. If difficult for me to find shoes that dont leave my knees sore at the end of the day. I have had two knee surgeries, and while I am only 24, I can absolutely say for people with arthritis or knee issues these boots are worth going for. They have been on my feet every day since purchased and I am extremely pleased. they have done well from light trail walks to following my girlfriend through the mall while christmas shopping. they are a little expensive but worth it in my opinion.

I bought these shoes for a long trip through Europe, thinking they'd be perfect for a lot of walking, keep my feet warm and dry in the cold/wet months of November and December, and look good enough to go out to dinner in. As other reviewers have commented they are indeed warm, can be worn comfortably all day, and clean up well for a night out. Unfortunately these boots (at least my pair) fail when it comes to keeping water out.
The seal between the rubber and the leather is poor and lets water in, making these boots useless if you come across a puddle. To make matters worse, moisture is retained deep inside the sole; I let them air out for a week before wearing them again, only to have hours of walking in them draw more moisture out, right into my socks and the polartec lining. They're not at all comfortable when wet inside and refuse to dry; I don't imagine they'd be great in warmer (sweatier) conditions either.
I've got a month left of travel before I get home, and can't wait to get these wet, stinky shoes out of my suitcase and returned for a refund. They're just bulky deadweight until then.

Living in Seattle, this is truly the perfect winter shoe. Seattle being a casual town, I can wear these to most to most any gastropub or reasonably upscale eatery, yet the trail-quality sole is perfect for long hikes, too. It's not uncommon for us to mix a day out-and-about the city with an afternoon hike, so it's great to have a single shoe that both looks sharp in a coffee house and performs admirably on the trail.

100% waterproof for all those drizzly days and Polartec-lined with a merino wool insole, these shoes are comfortable beyond words and swaddle my feet without ever making them sweaty.

Really the only drawback is the ridiculously long shoestrings, but of course those are easily replaced.

I have had these boots for a week now and wore them every day. A lot of reviews said that these were small or tight. A good fit for me as I have a size 9 length but bony feet with no meat on them and a high arch. My custom orthotics fit nicely. These boots fit like a glove. The second day wearing them I walked for about 5 hours and my feet felt great. If you have normal feet go a half size larger. Thinking of buying one or two more as it is so hard to find shoes/boots that fit so well and I know after I wear these out I will not be able to find another pair.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with these shoes. I have had them for about a year and I bought them to wear in the winter around town and for business trips where I want to have one pair of shoes I can wear to the office, around town, and weekend hiking. After a weekend they clean up nicely for work on Monday.

These shoes are generously cut and the soft leather makes them comfortable. I find they fit best with medium weight hiking socks. They are well-crafted. They definitely aren't wingtips, but they do fine for business casual. They are likewise fine for wandering about Paris or London and for rambling in the countryside.

These shoes are warm, waterproof and reasonably breathable. I have been quite happy tramping around the UK and France in winter. My feet were warm and dry even in the muddy slush in the English countryside. I have put close to 100 trail miles on them so far and much more than that tramping about town.

While a fine compromise between office and trail, they are a compromise. The soles do not provide much protection from stones or roots on a rough trail. Also they are not quite as supportive as you might like, but they work well enough for the odd weekend excursion.

There are 2 drawbacks. The lacing system is not so convenient which makes for some effort to get them on/off. You won't want to wear them through the airport security line. The second issue is that they don't have a great deal of cushioning, so you will feel the pavement or the trail after a long day on your feet.

They are also quite warm, perfect for winter in northern Europe, but I find them too hot for summer.
