    I have this bell on both my mountain bike and road/hybrid bike. I have xsmall bikes and not a lot of extra space on my handlebars so I love the petite size. I ride local paved and gravel multi-use trails so I like to give a lot of warning to runners and dog-walkers. If you flick the tab quickly at its tip, it rings loud and clear. Just don't hold onto it. The ringing tab position is easy to swivel for the most convenient position for your hand.

      The bell makes a 'boink' sound, not even a feeble 'ding'. The sound will alert no one, not even standing next to it. Plus there's a tiny nut that falls out the side opening very easily. No nut; no attachment. Bottom line: stay away from this one.

        Great simple design, however, CHECK size of your handlebars. It will not fit "most" handlebars as stated -- only those 21-22.6mm in diameter.
