Comments about Detours Toto Pannier - Single:
I use this pannier mostly for around-town riding and small errands, though I've also taken it to the beach. It's quick and easy to attach and remove from my luggage rack, it's comfortable to carry around (the attachment hooks don't jab you), and it looks more or less like an urban shoulder bag, not bike-geek paraphernalia. The magnetic closure is also nice, as it's easy to manage with full-finger gloves on.
The only downside is that the pannier does not attach as securely as the ones that have a bottom attachment point (an S hook or loop). When empty, mine once slid forward along my rack, catching my foot, and once, when it was stuffed full with a laptop and other heavy stuff, it fell off when I rode over a pothole. Both these problems are avoidable, I think, if you use the right size shims (it comes with shims of varying thicknesses for different racks) and make sure the hooks snap securely to the rack, but it probably isn't the best choice for very rough terrain or heavy loads.

I love this bag - it's super cute and easy to use. Like the above review my Toto came without a rain-cover - even though the tag said it should have one - I called the company and they sent one right away. So cool! The magnetic closure on this bag is great too!!

A great bag for commuting and everyday use. Fits a 13 inch mac book in case along with a wind beaker, gloves and some emergency supplies (tube, tools, tire levers, all fit in inside zippered pouch). Unfortunately mine and 6 others the REI SF store had came with a rain cover despite the fact the tag says removal rain cover.

These bags go on my Specialized Globe for errands in the city. They're sold singly but I bought a pair. I don't own a car, so I use these a lot. They were the only bags in the store that don't catch my heel when I'm riding. They mount on two "C" hooks, with no lower attachment, but they attach securely. One bag is big enough to hold my MacBook Pro 15" while in it's protective bag. The magnetic closure at the top is a nice touch. When you're riding, the long handles just flop over. Shoulder straps are included for taking the bags into the store.
Good looking bags, bright colors, included rain covers are a bonus. Hint: if the bag doesn't mount as securely as you like, contact Detours for replacement hook spacers that fit your rack. The other bags I really liked were also made by Detours - these guys are making some innovative bags.

Comments about Detours Toto Pannier - Single:
I commute to my job as an elementary school teacher all but one or two days a month, about 4 miles each way, in a mild and bike-friendly climate. I picked this out for its style points--I can carry it around in the community without it screaming "bike pannier." In style, it doesn't disappoint. And there are no more functional panniers at this price point.
Unfortunately, it is a bit too small for practical purposes--I have to work to get a compact lunchbox in alongside a 1/2" binder or laptop, and it doesn't give me room for spontaneous acquisitions. Also, its only pocket has only one compartment and hangs on the non-bike side of the bag, so if I put anything in it, the pocket hangs in the way of the main opening. Lastly--and I hope this is a fluke--the pocket's binding ripped out on the second day I used it, which makes me think the liner's fabric was not chosen well for durability.

These panniers are great (I have 2)! I looked high and low for a stylish pannier that I could carry into grocery stores and around campus with. Finally, I found the toto. I can easily fit a 13" macbook laptop, shoes and a change of clothes in one pannier.
I take them grocery shopping with me twice monthly and load them up. Even with only one fully loaded pannier, I don't have any problems with balance on the road. The pack covers work wonders when it's raining - kept my laptop dry.
They DO sit a little high above the rack. So if you use a rack trunk, make sure that it doesn't hang over the sides of the rack. Otherwise you'll run into problems with securing your rack trunk.

I use this pannier to keep my back free of a backpack. One large compartment has plenty of room. The rain cover works great and the cost is very reasonable. I was prompted to write this review after dealing with customer service. The clips that hold my pannier broke in a bike accident. I contacted customer service because I was sad that my pannier was out of commission. They promptly replied and said that new clips are in the mail! That's awesome.

I have used it as a day bag on a trip across France and at Catalina Island. I have gone shopping at Big box stores (Smaller things only no TP) I use it 3 or 4 days a week doing daily stuff.
I like the Big hooks it makes it easy and Quick to get on and off the bike. It is possible going fast on BIG bumps to have it jump (twice in 2 years) off a hook. I added a bungi strap at the bottom and that works. San Diego road maintenance is poor. I took to riding a mountain bike on the street. I would get another one of these if this one wears out but I prefer the bright orange color of the one I have.

Comments about Detours Toto Pannier - Single:
This pannier is absolutely fantastic! I was initially looking at waterproof panniers but these come with a removable raincover which makes them waterproof without the added weight and bulk of waterproof material.
I bought a pair of the orange panniers 6 months ago and have used them in rain and shine and fully loaded up with cans and potatoes from the markets and they still don't show the slightest sign of wear and tear.
I cycle to work everyday and I find a pair of them is more than enough for a change of clothes, shoes, handbag, water bottle and lunch.
The convenient little zip pocket on the inside is ideal for quick-access to keys/phone, and the inbuilt sleeve is perfect for keeping A4 documents from getting crumpled. The magnetic close on the top is super easy to use and strong. Detours have thoughtfully included a reflective strip, which is such a simple but helpful thing to include with all cycling accessories.
Its super easy to attach to the rack and the shoulder strap is comfortable to use. My only problem with this pannier (which is a small problem), is that the clip on the shoulder strap squeals like a tortured kitten when carrying a full load. Can be a bit embarassing in public spaces, but I plan to fix it by attaching the strap with a couple of carabiners instead
And one other thing that really sets these panniers apart from the rest is simply that it looks good. I can carry these around in the mall and they look like a regular sling bag. Its not that I'm embarassed to carry around panniers but I don't understand why so many other brands insist on such ungainly, ugly designs!
Would highly recommend this to anyone for everyday commuting. Its probably a little small for longer trips but perfect otherwise!
