Comments about Detours Toocan Grassy Pannier - Single:

I use this pannier to commute to work at the university every day. It holds a lot of stuff, but it has a hard time closing if I have my laptop and a lot of other stuff in it. (That is how the zipper pull broke).

It is easy to carry this pannier off the bike, and I really like that. I can put the handles over my shoulder and carry it up the stairs to my 6th floor office even if it is heavy. I never wanted to do that with my old pannier.

I would like the pannier to be a little bit bigger, and I would like it to have a click-lock onto my rack like my last Vaude pannier set did. The pannier hasn't bounced off the rack much, but it has done so on occasion.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this pannier and glad I bought it.

Comments about Detours Toocan Grassy Pannier - Single:

I am so excited to have this pannier! This bag is big enough to carry everything I need for a meeting - non-bikie clothing (including shoes), a legal pad, marketing materials - but it looks like a large handbag, not like a piece of camping equipment. I can bicycle to work-related appointments, and after ducking into the ladies room, appear professional. With the sale price, it was no more expensive than a regular handbag.

The worst of it is that it only has the hooks for the rack. I have lost panniers before that had more secure attachment systems. So, I'm using a bungee cord to secure this pannier to the bike for certain routes (example: steep hill with speed bumps). However, because it does only have the hooks, it is easy to pull off before loading the bike on a bus - a definite plus for a commuter.

Another drawback is that I couldn't use this pannier with my regular trunk. I have another rack, a tubus brand rack, that has a separate bar for panniers, and that would work. But with my more basic rack - the top of the pannier is too high, or the trunk too wide - they just don't fit together.

These two downsides are far outweighed by the practical and stylish nature of this pannier. I am just thrilled with it!
