The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Mammut Lucido X-Zoom Headlamp:
*** This thing should be Classified***
First I'd like to comment on the initial impression in the package, this thing looks pretty big and bulky but once you put it in your hand it's really pretty light and practical. Once you add the weight of 3 AA's that's about it. The first thing I noticed on the construction was the rubber behind the light and on the inside of the battery pack. This light stays in place. The battery compartment was a fitted style rubber housing that should seal out a moderate rain. Next is the candle power, this ranks second to none hands down WOW factor! The rotating bezel is great and will work fine with gloves and doesn’t torque side to side when using it. The ON/OFF switch is great first click. low power second click.. medium and third click... wholly cow.
The focused and wide angle beams are really 100 times better than a Petzl Duo.
The only bad thing I found was with the use on a Petzl helmet the head lamp clips can be a bit of a pain with a dual adjustable head band on the ZOOM.
I've used allot of lights and this one is spendy but I think if your going out at all at night you'll agree with this review.

Comments about Mammut Lucido X-Zoom Headlamp:
Only owned this 1 day. Seemed cool in theory. Zoom function works great--nice wide spot that can be narrowed to a far reaching spot (square pattern). Pretty light weight, seems like good construction. However, Mammut overlooked one important aspect of headlamps. Comfort. The front of this light there are two tiny little rubber pads where the light contacts your forhead. This seems like a great idea to keep the light from moving around if you are jogging or something as they really dig into whatever they are against. However, Pressure=Force divided by Area. Since the contact area is so small, there is a ton of pressure on your forhead. Those two rubber pads dig in, leaving big marks on your skin and giving you a headache. Good effort Mammut but send this back to redesign please and make it comfy to wear for hours on end. This would be a great headlamp if its going to be on a helmet all the time.

Imagine that you are hiking in complete darkness, using only your trusty headlamp as a light source. You hear a noise in the distance or hear brush being crushed by an animal's footsteps. Being able to zoom in and focus your headlamp would be a nice feature to have right?
We were hiking Cactus to Clouds (Palm Springs) and about 1/2 way into the hike I spotted what looked like a reflector post in the distance. I was the only one able to see it since I was able to use the zoom feature. The reflection turned out to be a mountain lion's set of eyes. When it turned to run to the right, I was able to track it. Never had I seen something move this fast and silent. Not a sound was heard! And when it turned back and towards us, that's when we decided to change our route. We figured that there must be cubs nearby. We regularly start our hikes at 11pm so this light is a huge asset. I strongly recommend it.

I'm in my second month of use for this product, I've taken it underground and have hiked many miles though the woods thus far. The beam is bright and the adjustable zoom is insanely great. The zoom lets this headlamp reach further than higher power headlamps while allowing you to the ability to quickly zoom back into a soft flood light for once you reach your target. When you are zoomed for maximum distance, there is still ample light to cover your peripheral vision.
The rear red lights on the back are a major plus, it's reassuring to have them when walking along the road. You can also turn on just the red lights and spin the headlight around to have the red lights facing forward for some nice gentle red lighting when you don't need too much light to see what you are doing.

Comments about Mammut Lucido X-Zoom Headlamp:
I love this headlamp. I use it mostly car camping and backpacking but it gets used pretty much anytime I need a light. One of the features that no other reviewers have mentioned is it's water resistant battery case. I've taken mine into the water with me on a couple of midnight dunks in the lake and it's always worked fine. I think it's rated to be submerged in 3ft of water for 30min(don't hold me to it). I was skeptical about the battery case, there is no lock for the cover, but it does its job. The three LED's on the back are a nice feature but I use them mostly for the battery life indicator. The light output is outstanding. Other reviewers mentioned it being uncomfortable and to some point I'll agree. I just loosened it up a bit and problem fixed(and yes it stays in place, even running). This headlamp outshines and outlasts all of my friends' lights, no competition.

Comments about Mammut Lucido X-Zoom Headlamp:
This light is very bright and the "zoom" feature is awesome. I very rarely use anything other than the lowest light setting as this seems to be plenty of light. I like the adjustment tilt also. The only complaint I have is that it is a bit bulky and heavy which can get a bit uncomfortable after prolonged use. I've learned to wear it higher on my head which doesn't hurt nearly as much. It also has flashing red lights to the rear which are great if you have people following you or if you need to warn people that you are in front (riding/walking on a road).

Comments about Mammut Lucido X-Zoom Headlamp:
Wow! This is one bright light. I bought this light about a year ago and have used it on multi-day trips and night hikes. This is my first LED light and I was apprehensive about switching from a standard high intensity unit to an LED and wanted a bright light with good battery life. The Lucido fits the bill perfectly. It has three output settings with low being nice for around camp or in tent use, medium works well for most trail work. With the bezel zoomed out to flood and the unit on medium it casts a nice pool of light from your next step out about thirty feet, with the maximum usable light out to about seventy-five feet. Run into heavy fog at night, no problem, just zoom in to spot and the beam cuts right through. On high this puppy really shines! Set on flood, you can light up the camp site or, zoom to spot and light up goats (or whatever else is going bump in the night) a hundred yards away! The literature says it will run for 300+ hours, but that's down to about moon light levels, so I tested it on medium for ninety-six hours continuous and found it to still have decent output, about the same as the low setting with new batteries. Yes, it is expensive and a little heavier than some others (it's not uncomfortable), but if you want performance and one light that will do it all, buy a Lucido!

Comments about Mammut Lucido X-Zoom Headlamp:
because this uses 3X AA batteries, it is a pretty heavy lamp. for the weight then, i was expecting this to be a really bright lamp--it was only average. I have another LED Lenser H7 headlamp, which is way lighter, much much brighter, and slightly cheaper--much better value. [...]

Comments about Mammut Lucido X-Zoom Headlamp:
I bought this headlamp to be a full featured tool for climbing. It has some great features but I found just isn't designed or put together as well as one would expect for a high end Mammut product.
Definitely don't expect to wear this lamp without a helmet or at least a hat. - it simply is not designed to sit directly on your head and you'll find it very uncomfortable.
Mine mysteriously fell apart on its second time in the field, so I got myself a BD Icon which appears to be a much better designed, much lighter lamp with all the same features for considerably less money.

Comments about Mammut Lucido X-Zoom Headlamp:
I've had this headlamp for a couple of years now. The internal springs which drive the zoom feature have worn out and the plastic parts inside the housing are rubbing now forcing me to slap the lamp to get it to zoom.
The design of the lamp itself is uncomfortable because of basically two pressure points it creates on my forehead. The weight of alkaline batteries makes the lamp too heavy so lithium batteries are really the only comfortable way to power the unit. It works fine if you are wearing a stocking cap or helmet.
When it worked correctly, the zoom feature was impressive and on a whole it can put out an impressive amount of light. It's a good idea but it still needs some work.
