Comments about Vasque Breeze LT Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boots - Men's:
My family had planned a trip to Yosemite this last June (even though we were going during a rare rain spell and it was calling for snow on Half-Dome), and like a fool i found myself at REI the day we were leaving getting these shoes. I was worried about getting horrible blisters from our climb to Half-Dome the next day, but bought them anyways. I am very pleased to report that even though I recieve one small blister, my feet were in great support. The traction held well even at the base of the cabels where it was slippery from melted snow, and they also repelled water very well. The only thing that I am not sure of is how long they will last.

Comments about Vasque Breeze LT Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boots - Men's:
I got my pair recently and absolutely love them. I do all around hiking, back packing, ultralight, mountaineering, and these work for a good all around boot. They are very comfortable and light coming in at 1lb 1oz each. They provide very good support for harsh rocks and hard maneuvering. They have a gum toe for mountaineering and a Vibram sole which in my opinion is the best out there. They have good arch support and stability for long 30-50lb packing trips. I would recommend this shoe to anyone.

Comments about Vasque Breeze LT Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boots - Men's:
I'm notoriously difficult to fit. Size 14, over-pronator (super low arches), long toes, narrow heel, wide forefoot (bunions). I purchased a pair of Vasque "Blur" trail running shoes for every day on the recommendation [...], and love them. So when it was time to get new hiking boots, I checked these out.Super comfortable, right out of the box. After my first high Sierra hike, I'm happy to report that I love these boots! Excellent traction, good water-proofing, and superbly comfortable all day (with my Superfeet insoles, of course).Great boot at a good price.

Comments about Vasque Breeze LT Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boots - Men's:
Vasque boots that seem cheap, unlike Vasque boots of the past. The best boots I have ever owned have been Vasque, but if this is the garbage that they are making now, I will need to find a new brand. Do they imagine that feet of a particular size are now smaller than they used to be? Do they imagine that cheap garbage at higher prices, which were a good deal when they were good quality, is a way to make a buck? Do they imagine that plastic is as good as metal for strength? Vasque used to be great, but these are cheap pieces of garbage, like boots you can buy for half the price elsewhere. Save your money and buy something else. I will need to look for new boots elsewhere, as Vasque can no longer be counted on to make a decent boot.

Comments about Vasque Breeze LT Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boots - Men's:
These boots are VERY warm, light and looks great! However, my size is 10.5 wide measured at REI and I bought size 11 from REI.com, the forefoot is too narrow to be comfortable so I have to return them. I do not recommend these to those who have wide toes.

Comments about Vasque Breeze LT Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boots - Men's:
At first I loved these boots. They are lightweight, waterproof, and comfortable. After breaking them in at work without any problems, I was ready to test them on the trail. I did 40 miles on the AT in GA, and about 20 miles in, I began to develop nasty blisters on both heels. When I took the boots off to check my feet, I noticed the stitching on the inside of the boots was very abrasive, something I had not noticed before. These would be great for dayhikes, but for longer treks, this could present a problem for most people. --Take note that I am heavy compared to most hikers, and this could easily have aggravated the situation.

All good except it is poor in traction, even it is using Vibram sole.

Comments about Vasque Breeze LT Mid Gore-Tex Hiking Boots - Men's:
I never do reviews but since I depend on them for my online purchases, I figured it was time to give back to the online community. I'm picky about my foot comfort. I moved from running to hiking because of my age, 63. I've learned with some dismay that your feet grow as you age. I wore a 12 as a young adult and a 13 as a mature adult. My first hiking boots were Timberline size 13 but I suffered from black toenails. I felt like I needed a larger size but 13 was the limit at sporting goods stores. I did some research and visited an REI store to try on some real boots for a change. Everything pointed to a 14. I liked the Vasque Breeze GTX the best but it just seemed like too much boot for my use. I hike mainly in the Chihuahuan Desert of the Big Bend area, usually 2-3 days with a 35 lb. pack. I looked at REI online and found the Vasque Breeze LT GTX. It's a little lower on the ankle and a little lighter so I decided to give it a try. [...] This morning was my first break-in hike. I did the five-mile loop around Allen Parkway in Houston and my feet felt so good at the end, I kept walking for another hour. The size 14 was a little big across the instep so I just added a Dr. Scholl's Sport Gel insole on top of the original and it laced up nice and snug. The roominess of the toe box is wonderful. It's almost euphoric to traipse straight down a hill without banging my toes. I'm looking forward to the breath-ability of the Gore-Tex, much better in the desert than all leather boots.
