This page is provided for reference to historical product information.

Inspiration for the Detours Teeco design came from climbing-rope carry bags—a great concept modified a bit for a new mission hanging off your bike.

  • Rubber bathtub bottom withstands years of abuse and gives the Teeco an upright kind of attitude
  • Hidden front panel aluminum stays provide form and support; exterior plastic clips attach bag to bike rack
  • Shoulder carrying straps keep the Teeco firmly planted on your back and leaves your hands free to graze
  • Zippered pocket on the back panel stores shoulder carrying straps when the pannier is hanging on your rack
  • Mesh side panels allow you to see what's inside
  • Simple drawcord closure top lets you overstuff this puppy
  • Please note: This item is sold as a single pannier

Comments about Detours Teeco Pannier - Single:

I have been using this on a commute to oakland from El Cerrito several time a week and it is awesome- Other panniers I have tried I always had a kicking problem with. This one is great because it is easy to install, easy to load and remove. It stand up by itself (great feature) and has backpack straps. Great for groceries and the farmers market too.

Comments about Detours Teeco Pannier - Single:

I really wanted to like this pack and I mostly did at first. I liked that you could easily hook the pack on you rack and then take it off when you got to your destination and wear it as a back pack. However there was one draw back: there was no pockets for organization. I used this pack to commute to my classes. The lack of pockets on the pack made it a hassle to pull out pencils and small things as they got lost in the 'pit'. The second problem occurred after 5 months of moderate use. The rubber base began to disconnect from the body of the bag. The durability was disappointing. I never carried anything more than a textbook and a binder in it, so if it can't handle that weight it isn't much good. I have since returned it.

Comments about Detours Teeco Pannier - Single:

I like this bag. I use it to go to the gym and find it much more convenient than a backpack since I don't have to deal with a zippers and pockets and takes no time to put on my rack and take off. The fact it stands up is a plus and the mouth is wide enough that I can use it for shopping. The mesh at the opening can be pulled back over the edge to allow for easier insertion of items. While it isn't waterproof, I will keep a smaller sized plastic bag to use as cover in the event of rain.

One improvement I would like to see is some kind of smaller pocket/pouch near the top for my keys etc. I withhold one star for that reason.
