Comments about GoLite Adrenaline +40 Sleeping Bag:
Sometimes the Go Lite products can be just a little too minimal, and here is an example. This is not a bad bag, but the warmth rating and design leave a lot to be desired.
By far the worst problem is the zipper configuration. While closed, the zipper leaves just a small hole for your head to poke out or to expose your face when wearing the hood. On paper, this is a very efficient design. However, in practice, it makes for a very claustrophobic feel, almost like what I'd imagine a body bag would feel like. Every time you want to reach for something (light, water, lip balm, etc.), you must unzip your bag, and finding the zipper at night after several rolls-over can be hard. Also, the zipper tends to snag easily, making things even worse. There is no way to sleep with your arms outside the bag without sacrificing a great deal of coverage and thus warmth.
If you don't mind this (and I thought I wouldn't, having never felt claustrophobic before using this bag), then the bag does hold some promise. Its light weight and small pack size, along with quality fabric and feathers get the job done, just not as well as advertised. If you sleep extra, extra warm, then maybe the 40-deg rating will work, but I usually can take my bags lower than their rating and be fine. Not so with the Adrenaline 40.
The fit is just long enough for someone 5'11'. If you're any taller, you might consider the long. Or maybe a different bag altogether.

Comments about GoLite Adrenaline +40 Sleeping Bag:
I don't cover as much ground as I used to, but still get after it on weekends and I think the design of this bag is superb - the center front zip is fantastic for a side sleeper like me, although the ultralight fabric requires about 5 practice zips to consistently avoid snagging. Once I got the hang of it, I wondered why I had never tried a bag with a zip like this since it eliminates the discomfort of sleeping on a zipper so completely. I have no problem with the hood operation like a previous poster did, but admittedly find it easy to operate most drawcord devices. This bag is plenty warm for summer in the mountains, and can be stretched into the shoulder seasons with a bit of extra clothing and a hat. I think the editors at Backpacker were right to give it their award last year. This lightweight bag helps me keep my pack weight to a minimum so I can also carry my kids' stuff.

Comments about GoLite Adrenaline +40 Sleeping Bag:
This sleeping bag is awesome! I pulled it out for the first time, and was surprised at the weight and the loft of this bag. It stuffs super-small and sleeps very warm! I went on a overnight trip to Blood Mountain in north GA in April. I slept in my one person REI Quarterdome, and the temps dropped to around 32 degrees. I only was wearing my lightweight Patagonia Capilene 2 baselayer and heavy wool socks and a warm hat, and I slept comfortable all night! I started to get worried before I went to bed because the temperature rating was only 40 degrees, but this bag performed wonderfully!
