I use this product daily on my bicycle commute to and from work of about 5 miles. I work nights so im riding to work in the dark and riding home in the frosty mornings. the headliner does a super job of keeping my head and face warm without the wetness of accumulation on my face from breathing. Fits great under my bike helmet. Cant say enough about the wicking ability. super product. Comfortable in mild weather (40-50s) and even cold weather ( this morning it was 18, and i was comfortable)

First I should note, it looks like they've recently changed the design, as mine did not have grey seams, however, this is the only REI one, so I'm guessing it's otherwise still the same design. I got this (or it's previous version) for bike commuting and the occasional snowshoeing trek. Brought it home to try it on (couldn't at the store, because of how it was attached to the cardboard) and it was huge on my head. Apparently "one size" does not fit my head, though normally I don't have this issue with headwear. If you have a lot of thick hair, this might be good for you, but for those of us with short hair or small/medium sized heads, go with a different brand.

This balaclava will keep you warm while skiing. I love how lightweight it is (doesn't feel bulky) since I wear it under my helmet. It also dries very fast. The only downsides that I have experienced are that it does not fit my face as well (slides down my nose and is baggy on the face) and that even though it is breathable, it gets wet with breath condensation...but I suppose almost all balaclavas develop moisture like this, so it's not really a negative for this product.
