I purchased these to replace my Nikon binoculars. I was and continue to be amazed at the clear, bright field of view from these binoculars. I challenge anyone to find a pair of binoculars as clear, bright and as easy to use as these for under $300. I could not believe the price [$] for these fantastic binoculars.

Great with glasses--you will never take them off again! Forgiving focus tolerates minor eye focal differences without need to adjust the diopter. You can easily share them in a group without making constant focus and diopter adjustments. Large, bright, razor-sharp image. Can see the moons of Jupiter on a clear night! A great buy!

At a student budget I needed some glass to conduct bird research in the rainforest for 3 months. After some studying, I decided on this pair of binos. Fantastic choice. In the low understory light, I could clearly see the colors of bands on birds that everyone else was having trouble seeing. I could make out color at distances others could not. The image is clear, brighter than the naked eye (personal observation), and the binos are tough (think mud, rain, and constant trips/falls for 3 months). Hard to approach a better deal at twice this price. Every young birder on a tight budget should own this pair. My only complaint is the poor quality lens covers, obviously all the money went into the glass because the lens covers are akin to something you might find in a cereal box.

Toyed with getting the similar 10x50 binoculars and am very happy I went with these. Extremely sharp image, and as others have noted, very bright (brighter than the 10x50, and more stable when viewing). Smaller than I would have expected, and a nice change from the larger binoculars I grew up with - I've found myself using them more than I had anticipated. Still waiting to put them to real use in the Boundary Waters, but they've been a lot of fun for watching birds in the back yard.

Would have given them a 5/5 were it not for cheap eyepieces. Had one break within a few months of purchase when twisting it up into place, but was replaced by REI. Everything else about these feels very solid, and well built.

I looked around and tried a lot of brands. These were the best I found in this price range. Models costing twice as much weren't any better from what I could tell.

Then I got these outside for some real use. Love 'em! Optics are really good; the construction is solid; they stood up to the weather great; and they are relatively small and light. You'll pay a ton more to get something with comparable optics that is smaller and/or lighter than these.

Two nice touches that make a big difference to me: they're easy to focus with one hand, and the lens caps are attached so you don't lose them.

If you're looking for nice binoculars, I would suggest you take the time to look these over. I was ready to dismiss them as a pair of "store brand" binoculars. Glad I didn't!

Purchased these at local REI store 14 months ago, lost on a school field trip, and about to purchase a replacement pair.
These binoculars provide a stable, bright, clear image and are comfortable to use. Very good quality and value, good balance and feel, especially when used with a harness. The strap attachment points on each side are designed too small, though, so you need to some with a way to attach the harness. This is a problem with other binocular brands as well. Highly recommended!
